Official SAT Subject Test - Math Level 2 - June 2015

@sdw8253 guaranteed 800 as long as you don’t get careless. Someone chance me? Tests taken in Chronological order from top (earliest) to bottom (most recent):
CB = CollegeBoard Test
B = Barron’s test
DC = Dr Chung’s Test

CB: 750
B: 740
DC: 640
DC: 570
CB: 790
B: 750

Planning to take at least one more Chung’s test and maybe another Barron’s before tomorrow.

can someone give me the link to the collegeboard prac test?

@schoolisfunforme I believe you’ll need to get the book.

@Yakisoba 770-780? I imagine the CB book is the best indicator.

@yakisoba @Frigidcold
mmm… I personally haven’t taken this test yet but since you didn’t get a 800 on the CB one…
probably high 700’s? Since the real test is harder than the official CB released test…

anyway good luck tomorrow!

Thanks guys. Hopefully a miracle happens

Lol. You can’t just assume the real test is always harder than the CB test and the curves are “supposed to be” adjusted accordingly…

Any info on difficulty relative to Barron’s? Got a 650 by luck and if that’s how the true test is, I’m done

where could I find a list of formulas or other tips that are essential to remember for the math 2 test tomorrow?

also, any accurate practice tests available online? trying to do some last minute studying.

@ShawnLooch You’ll probably end up getting in the mid 700s. People generally say add about 100 to your Barron’s score.

@nujabe4 Skim through an practice book?

@nujabes4 Barron’s has a list of formulas in the back. Also, if you look earlier in the thread, I posted a link of helpful programs that you can put into your calculator before the test.

I have a question. The problems that I get wrong most frequently are those with probability and conic sections. Also, the ones that involve logic (i.e. Indirect proofs or statements that imply other statements) are often areas of weakness. But I think my number one area of struggle is probability, especially the more advanced problems that involve permutations and combinations and the “1-(probability of it NOT OCCURRING)” questions. So, what can I do last minute to miss as few probability/conic questions as I can tomorrow?

Does anyone have practice questions specifically for conics, matrices, and vectors? those seem to be the hardest sections for me

@baller55
@Yakisoba
I think sparknotes has a really good study guide for conics and probability. I’m using that and Chung’s tips to make sure I know all the formulas before tomorrow
Good luck!

@JuicyMango thanks! :slight_smile: unfortunately I haven’t even finished Barron’s for tomorrow’s test (freakout mode will likely begin soon), but i’m really aiming for 700+ on the real thing. hopefully it happens despite my abysmal 660 on SAT I math… haha… :frowning:

Can someone explain ambiguous case for law of sines?

@schoolisfunforme this page explains it pretty well http://www.regentsprep.org/regents/math/algtrig/att12/lawofsinesAmbiguous.htm message me if you want me to explain it further

Just listen to Canon in D by pachelbel and then go to sleep.

@meanjean: The curve is really big so 700+ is definitely NOT a long shot. If you know all of the formulas and concepts to at least a basic degree, you should be scoring 700+ easy on the real test. Just try to complete all the Barron’s tests, because they really help.
Regarding SAT 1 math, math 1 and math level 2 are VERY different tests so your math 1 score shouldn’t hinder you. If you have any questions about math 1, feel free to pm me or ask me here. I got an 800 so I can help :).

Ok can someone go to Barrons book, look at pg 187 number 6 and please tell me why im getting error when i put enter Y1

can someone go to pg 187, look at number 6, and explain why i get error when i hit Y1. i have nothing in it but what am i suppposed to have?
