Official Sept. 16 ACT Reflection

I have one piece of advise: don't take any test in NY, the noisiest city on the face of the earth.

Yeah the answer to the radiates/glints one seems to be glints. Didn't seem like glints was even a word, though. Did anyone on here actually know its definition?

And for the beano one.. did anyone get "increases only" for two answers in a row? I might have messed up because I read the other answers, so the answer could have been increases then remains constant or something.

glint=to produce small bright flashes of light

it's radiates

haha about the population prob, i saw the logistics equation and i thought 'wow... so many ppl are gonna get this wrong' because i learned logistics near the end of bc calc. maybe it's just me

I did too! I hadn't expected that at all and ended up just deriving it from the diff eq. So glad we covered it in calc II :)

I didn't take the ACT today, but I know glint means to like shine or glitter

Glint:
2. gleaming brightness; luster.

Radiate:
1. to extend, spread, or move like rays or radii from a center.
2. to emit rays, as of light or heat; irradiate.
3. to issue or proceed in rays.

I got it wrong, but glint sure goes along with glistened and whatever the other one was a lot better than radiates does. I wish it was radiates.

Which questions are you guys talking about?

ahh damn I thought "creep" meant only to sneak or crawl.
and it isn't used figuratively in the passage.
it has a specific meaning:
creep(of plants)- to grow along the ground or up walls using long stems or roots.

Yeah I put creep for that one. It just sounded the most logical.

do you guys remember the answer choices for the creep tread one. it seems to be a big concern for everyone

it is 200% creep.

They were talking about the growth one, the 9.10(1+r/100)^n problem (that seems to be the consensus of the answer, at least).

19382, that was pretty simple......... its a simple algebra II problem unless im missing something?

Yeah, I definitely put creep. Creep and treads are the only ones I remember, sorry.

what were the answer choices
a)
b)
c)
d)

jai6633: it was the last question on the math test. something about population, blah blah, they give you some variables, and they don't give you how the logistic eq works! which surprised me quite a bit.

i totally agree that the math section was much more challenging than practice tests.

what form number did you have

ummm....did anyone get the one question in science about the snow and they give u a list of seeds that germinated from each class of plant and asked for the percentage of snowmelt that the plants were watered with?

I put (A) either 0 or 20 as the answer

you are correct blah123
