my high school grades are not very strong..i just had good recs and strong essays...i am thinking i will be rejected...even though i was a GT...that doesn't matter anymore.

well 3 more days which sucks but ehhh ,..... I think I can make it.

You guys are lucky.

Engineering says it could be as late a June!

It's kinda puzzling because, if I recall, they get far fewer apps than the other colleges.

Yeah but the closer the day approaches , the more anxious I get.

Well I just got accepted to ILR ,..... CORNEL ILR '09 BABY

So did I!!! wow... congratulations everybody else who got accepted

Cornell '09!!!!

and maxis i see you're from rutgers.. so am I, congrats man!

that's awesome guys! Congrats!

Did you guys find out online, or by phone?
And I am sorry if this has been already asked--are you guys GT?

maxis, you found out online?? this doesnt bode will for me if people are finding out online..my online thing still doesnt say anything

they actually called me and told me.................

really??? wow. im gonna start my applicaton for spring 2007 tonight.

yeah the transfer counselor is awesome.

ian?.......

esoc...how did you hear?

I mean I put a lot a lot and did I mention a lot of effort in my application. Like I stated before it took me 2-3 months to perfect my essays.

i will transfer in 07 to ilr (maybe) but i got a gt.

I am a transfer and a lot of transfers here are from community college/state schools so you all have a good shot (especially NYU guy). ILR has the highest transfer acceptance rates, and Arts and Sciences has the lowest (around 10-11% this year). I think engineering is pretty tough also. If you get in maybe you'll be in my orientation group next year :P

Maxisyahu,

You wouldn't be willing to post your essay(s) would you? I also put a lot of thought and work into my essays, and I hope I also get your results! :)

I don't know how much weight Engineering puts on writing though. But I think my essays are pretty much what will make or break me, since I am at a community college that does not have an articulation agreement with Cornell. I hope Cornell isn't prejudiced against cc's that they don't have agreements with.

dh277,

Do you know if many people are accepted to Cornell out of community colleges without articulation agreements? Especially from out of state community colleges?

I'm not sure what you mean by articulation agreements, if you mean guaranteed transfer type of deal then Yes, I know at least 2 people from community colleges in Connecticutt that have gotten in as transfer (both are in OLR though) and did not have GT. The reason engineering is more competitive is because Cornell has a very highly regarded engineering program and they really prefer you to take most of the classes here at Cornell, so they are hesitant when it comes to accepting transfers.

Articulation agreements are basically when a school equates their own courses to courses at another school. My california community college has such agreements with UCLA among a few other schools. It's not a guaranteed transfer.

Actually, I just looked up what info Engineering has, and apparently only the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has such agreements:

I know I can handle Cornell engineering, even though my CC's courses don't even come close in rigor. I just hope I was able to get that message across through my essays.
