im just bummed cause its seems like most people have heard from ILR and I haven't..It kinda feels weird to have been offered the GT option and having your heart set you are going to ILR, then get one bad grade and now probably not be admitted. I am extremely disenchanted with my current school and ILR seems as if it is the only place where my academic interests will be fulfilled...So if the news on Monday isn't good, I will for sure be applying for Spring 2007. 3rd time has to be the charm.

dh277: ILR has the highest transfer acceptance rates, and Arts and Sciences has the lowest (around 10-11% this year).

How did you obtain the numbers?

the numbers havn't been released yet, i dont know where you get this info.

FYI, acceptance rate for ilr studens w/o the GT is in the 20's.

ILR total is like 65 percent, some ridiculous amount,

you missed something rather important.

that whole GT thing? yeah, remember?

let me copy/paste it just in case:

"acceptance rate for ilr studens w/o the GT is in the 20's"

the university includes students with GT's into the transfer acceptance rate. Even though 95% of the students are guaranteed admission, they are still asked to apply again and thus their count as a applicant and as an acceptance. They do this, becuase as you can read from this thread, some GT's are rejected if they do not meet the requirements. This heavily infaltes the numbers making ilr transfers look like an easy job. But, as I have stated, admissions has informed me that the acceptance rate for ilr transfers without a GT is in the 20's. How come people can't comprehend this? Especially some Cornell students?

Ok guys...I am just REALLY CURIOUS PEOPLE who got calls AND got accepted. Would ALL ILR 2006 FALL transfers reply to this msg...so...is there any people who got a college GPA HIGHER than 3.60 (of course excellent in all other factors) DID NOT get a CALL from ILR? And totally...how many ppls on this board on the call anyways....I hope it does NOT mean "no call no acceptance...".

Please reply ILR 2006 FALL TRANSFERS

my GPA is sub 3.60....no call...either all those who were accepted got calls...or just a few of the top applicants...either way im fairly certain I'll be rejected come Monday morning when I make that phone call to ILR admissions.

my apologies, when I said around this year I meant last year, those numbers are on the Cornell website, there is a link in one of the forums here I forget which thread. look to the same link for this past year's rates (Fall 2005), they should be posted soon if not already.

Ugh you guys make me worry about next year lol

i was rejected to cas with a gpa of 3.65

were u a gt?

i believed those who received calls were ilr stuents who called admissions earlier in the day. Admissions said to call back Monday, but it appears they called back the students with good news late friday. Dont worry if you didnt get a call. If you applied to ILR, call admissions monday. You'll get your decision.

They called me to tell me I had been accepted and that decisions would be available on monday. Since I kept in contact with the Transfer Counselor and he had my telephone number because he had called me before , he was able to give me my decision. But it's not that they went through 200 applications called people. If you did not get a call , it doesn't mean anything. Relax people.

BTW gomestar, thanks for all your help with transferring and hopefully i'll see you in the fall ;)

I did not leave my name and was not even expecting a phone call. Like I told you online , relax don't worry. ILR admissions had a really long meeting on friday and finished late.

Have a positive attitude , I was feeling the same the whole week. Think positive and everything should be fine.

What's a GT?

Congrats to everyone who has gotten a positive answer and gl to everyone still waiting! Besides for poor roots (I think it was him) did you guys take a math freshman year even though u didn't have to? (math is my weakest subject so I am just considering my options)

I actually got a 4 on the A.P. Calculus exam and still took Calculus 1 first semester because I wanted a GPA boost. So I decided to forego the A.P. credit. Worked out awesome , I had a great teacher and I got an A.

gt = guaranteed transfer
