@TonyStark93
So I guess the reason why I got rejected is due to Math IP? Is this the only school that is realllllly strict about?
Well if that’s the reason I kinda feel relieved b/c I have 3.9 GPA and my Pre-reqs are done and I was wondering wtheck I got rejected cuz I find no other reason…

lindyk8, what CC you go to has no impact on whether or not you get into a particular school. Nearby CCs to UCs tend to send more students to the close UC probably because the people at the CCs are much more familiar with the nearby UC than one 300 miles away. Not only that but there are probably agreements with the UC and CC in question (TAP for UCLA and SMC, U Link or whatever it’s called for UCSD and some of the SD CCs).

And this is the link you’re looking for.

Pre requ- one year of general chemistry both A’s, calculus 1 with a C and Biology 7 with a C. Currently taking Biology 6, calculus 2, and physics 37. Trying to get all A’s. By the end of spring I will have a year of general chemistry, biology, calculus, and one class in calc based physics done. Good Luck to everyone else

@flinstone according to the UC admission transfer profile sites, UCSB and UCI only accept 50% of their transfers. UCSD accepts 56%, Riverside 65% and Davis 63%. Better than UCLA’s 29%!

Forgot to mention those are last years stats. I would assume they’re going to be pretty similar this year, but you never know.

@shinepk I think UCI and UCLA are very strict on the math.

@mental2 i have spoken with reps for both UCLA and UCI both said having math IP was fine. uCSB rep told me not to even apply… but i did anyway

Is it possible for our status to change later today or am I not part of the first batch? My status is pending…

Major: Pre-Financial Mathematics and Statistics
GPA: 3.48 - 3.39 after TAU
TAG: No
IGETC: No
Pre-reqs- Missing 2, Differential Equations and Microeconomics

@shinepk, UCSB is the only UC that is strict about the completion of transferable math course by Fall. Don’t worry you’ll be fine.

BTW, I did not receive an email notifying that my application was updated with their decision. I had to check for myself.

@smltk - glad to hear that! I think I get what you’re saying. Even though acceptance is massive for say 12 CCs, those schools also have an application rate that is equally massive. Lower acceptance rates also have lower applicants. I think that’s what you’re saying… Great relief. Thanks!

@Whitetiger84 it might still change according to last years thread.

@sonic23 Thank you for letting me know! I appreciate it. :)

Ugh… when is the second batch?

Okay I called the office and they toldme it was Math IP.
Math must be completed by the fall prior to applying :(

@shinekpk are you speaking of just the math class requirement to transfer, or does that include all major prep math classes as well? I took my Statistics class a year ago, and I’m taking my calculus class right now

@Shinekpk thought so. Well ill just stop checking my status since i have Math IP and get back to studying lol

Dont worry theres still a chance at other UCs :)

ACCEPTED!!

GPA: 3.255
Major: Sociology
TAG: YES
IGETC: Yes
AA-T: Yes
Financial Aid: Packet not available yet
Strengths/Why admitted: TAG, and High Major GPA (4.0).

Finally this day has come!!

Does UCSB just issue a generic conditional acceptance? When I clicked it it sent me to what looked like is a general link and PDF conditions of acceptance.
