Official UMD 2012 Transfer

My daughter applied as a transfer from a 4 yr college to UMCP for the priority deadline and was accepted for the Fall 2012 into the Ag Natural Sciences (for nutritional science and dietetics) but because of some health issues she missed the reply deadline. We contacted admissions and they said that missing the 30 day reply date cancels the acceptance and to reapply for the Spring semester. Isn’t there a way to appeal - especially since she was accepted (it was not a denial)?

Yay! I am admitted! I don’t know why they had to wait for so long, though…

I applied after March 1st but before June 1st (March 12th). When will I get my acceptance letter?

When did you hear back and when did you apply?

you will hear back from them in july because you fell into regular admission deadline

Hi guys, I just received an email that they need my advisor to fill out a SEVIS Transfer form (I’m an international student) but I have not been accepted yet. Do you guys know what it means?

zombie, I think this is a good sign showing that you’re accepted to UMD! Congrats! because SEVIS is for the school to release your I20! But I think you will receive a formal mail soon.

Btw, when did you receive email? I also applied to Smith, but I haven’t heard back yet

I hope so! I received it last night, I thought the decision will be released in July.

Please let me know when do they release your notification.
Btw, I am also an international student, and where are you from?

Oh I also received my mail from UMD. It went to my spam mail box last night. Luckily I checked my mail today. I think it’s a good sign of being accepted

but that mail is so weird. It doesn’t have a email address and the title at the end said “Graduate school”

Hi, I got another email that said I am accepted and need to arrange the visa and orientation. But when i check my application portal, it doesn’t say anything. Do you guys know what it means? Did i get accepted or not?

I also got that email, and I think we got accepted
They will send us official notification in the first week of July.

Accepted yesterday! :)

Congrats to all that got accepted.

Hello, has anyone else received anything? (non-international) I’m still waiting for a decision.

llluke

Same here, still waiting. I heard we’ll get decisions mid July

Someone said first part of July.

Are they a real stickler for the math requirement? I feel like everything else in my app was good. GPA, essay, scores. I also was accepted to one of their summer programs on scholarship a few years ago. Some people have said they have a no tolerance policy for the math requirement while others say they accept on a case-by-case basis. What do you guys think?

If not, I will just wait another semester to apply after I take the right math class.

^that’s what I would like to know, but for the English requirement. I had a verbal SAT score above 670 which exempts me from taking the class at UMD, but I’m worried it’s still needed to apply. any insight?
