@JHOLDENR I think you have a fair chance considering you have an upward trend. Your current school - is that similar to a community college? or is it a 2-year? I notice you’re in PTK so I was just wondering. I think you do have a lot of impressive EC’s which gives you an edge over a lot of applicants in that area. Good luck!

JBI - I am applying to the School of Education.

NCXfer - Marion is supposedly one of the top community colleges in the country. It is a junior military college structured around a Corps of Cadets similar to that of The Citadel’s.

Thanks for the responses guys. Its keeping hope alive.

Awfully quite here. Saw a recent survey or something saying UNC is number one for price you pay for your education.

UNC officially has all required materials from me and my application is under review. I’m so nervous and wish I could just hear back today. The suspense is unbearable, I don’t think I can wait until April!

I am no expert so please don’t take my word but you look like a strong candidate. what’s your major?

I think you were an Instate as a high school senior, I think you would at least be in consideration for a scholarship

@strandedinhell
Thanks! My major is Germanic Studies

Heyyy, I am a bit worried about housing for transfers at UNC! What is the deal with that? I would be a sophomore transfer so I would really like to live on campus! Anyone got any advice on this??

Hello goo luck

When do you guys think decisions will be released? The first Transfer Visit Option Day is on April 11th, so I’m thinking they might release them on the Friday before (April 4th)…

UNC said that decisions would be available around mid-April. However, I applied to NC State which said decisions would be available around April 30th, and I heard back this past Friday. It might depend on which program you’re applying to.

I applied to the College of Arts and Sciences. Looking at the 2013 Transfer Thread, it appears that applicants found out around April 8th.

What is the Transfer Visit Option Day? Can’t find anything on it. It seems optimistic to think they’ll release them this Friday…

Here: <a href=“Schedule Your Visit - Undergraduate Admissions”>http://admissions.unc.edu/visit/touring-carolina/ I think they might be just information sessions though. Yeah, it might overly optimistic, but they were definitely released last year on the 8th, so maybe at least by next week.

Actually, I applied to UNC as a transfer student last year, and the decisions were released on Wednesday, April 10th. If they decide to release decisions on a Wednesday again this year, I think April 9th might be more realistic. Maybe the 16th due to the transfer application extension?

According to a post on their Facebook page, transfer notifications won’t be delayed due to the weather. Hearing back next week would be great.

Did any of you guys apply to other schools? If so, which ones? I recently got accepted to UNCG, UNCW, ECU, UNCC, and NC State. UNC is my dream school though and I can’t see myself attending anywhere else.

@justblewit I just applied to Carolina and Emory. UNC’s been a sort of dream school for me since I was in a high school sophomore, but I’m also heavily weighing in on Emory too. We’ll see what happens. Fingers crossed

@justblewit I applied to NCSU and got in! I really want to go to UNC though. I don’t know if this matters but the transfer thread from last year does not have as many people in it. Do you think that means it won’t be as competitive this year?
