*Official UNC Fall 2010 Transfer Thread*

Good for you! (No sarcasm). I wish I had done something more productive this weekend. I did some research on financial aid…filled out some forms, etc. Will probably get to my lab reports once I finish this round of Halo.

Cheeky: Nobody is actually seeing the Holds/Enrollment sections on their MyUNC. Somebody asked if anyone was, but nobody actually was.

I helped raise 45,000 dollars at my school for cancer at relay for life! Good weekend. (I personally raised $180.00 by winning the “Miss Relay for Life” contest… (Yeah, it was an all guy contest… haha) :P

CNUtoUNC,

I’m doing Miss Relay on Friday at UNC. It is a great cause. Hang in there, the wait is almost over!

It really is… Bahaha, I’ve been “bragging” that I’m the prettiest guy in drag on campus… :P

That has to be the worst title ever. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think what won it was singing love story on stage. >.>

Just called admissions this afternoon and they said online decisions will be out on Friday…no specific time given yet. They said they weren’t sure when the letters would go out/arrive.

by friday or on friday?

Friday or after.

I guess there’s no way to add something to my application – darn. I’ve been helping to put together the very first Chinese Club at my school and I’d hope to include that. Crud.

They said on Friday…but I guess it could always get pushed back if they are still tweeking their numbers or something

Some will surely pop-up by Friday. You may even see some start to get decisions on Thursday.

Is anyone else a Carolina Covenant scholar?

did some get theirs a day early last year or something?

My girlfriend got hers a day early during freshman application time, even though the decision date was pretty much set.

Also, the date on the paper application is the 15th. And someone said it typically always falls on T/Th. So we’ll see.

so this could either be the best or worst weekend of my life…hahaha

Basically. haha

guys lets post some quick stats so we can see where everyone is coming from…

instate transfer applying for soph. year
college gpa: 3.82
hs: 2.7 unweighted
sat: 1210
EC’s : Eagle Scout, Pilot, Phi Eta Sigma, Tutor.

Ok, I think I’ll post mine now. IT’S BEEN LONG ENOUGH.

College GPA: Same as above! Exactly, xD (3.82).
H.S. 3.0 UW, ~3.5 W?
SAT: 1210 w/o Writing. (Man, these same stats are creeping me out…)
ECs: Boy Scout Adult Leader, AMSA (American Med. Student Assn.), Charlotte Coalition for Social Justice, Founding Chinese Club member (didn’t get to include unfortunately), Fundraiser for ADA, and only really had Chancellor’s List as an award. :p

out-of-state applying for junior year
college gpa: 3.75
hs 3.9
sat: didn’t submit
ECs: Student Association of Finance and Accounting, CSU, Finance Director @ a student org, Intern last summer, Dean’s List for 2 semesters, Office Assistant.

mastemah: what classes did you take last semester

Calculus I, Chinese I, Statistics (Science), Film (Gen. Ed. course), and my Freshman Seminar course.

I have 37 credits from High School as well. Dual-enrollment program which knocks out most of my Gen. Ed. requirements at my school now and UNC. But those college courses count towards my HS GPA and not toward my class standing at UNC.

I actually had to look up that last class. Totally forgot what I had taken.

So I’m looking at everyone’s stats and I am so nervous even though the decision is any day now.

Transfer as a junior for fall 2010 - out of state from CA

HS academic GPA: 3.11 / total GPA: 3.039
college- 3.75 (+Honor Roll)

My essay was very personal and very strong which I’m hoping pulls through! UNC is my number one (I still have a couple other stragglers to hear from), but I was accepted to: Loyola NO, University of Alabama, UT, University of South Carolina, UNCW, Elon, and NCSU.

Any insight as to my chances? does out of state play a role?

Stomach is in knots!
