Anyone with questions…please PM me. I will help with everything I can answer.

I’m going to assume they don’t make calls on the weekend?

I’m kind of assuming the first and largest round is over…

rounds happen on friday (and if they need to go to the waitlist again they will do so next friday) and yes, the first round is the largest

I believe the calls are made on Thursday… last year they were and again this year. A few additional calls may be made on Friday.

Basically, the waitlist will be closed toward the end of June. But I would agree that it seems the first round is the largest and depends primarily on the need to fill demographic “holes” created from those who did not accept the original offer of admission.

I am hoping that a few openings are created by those who may get picked off from the HYP waitlists.

Keeping fingers crossed for all of us still waiting!

How long do those who were just accepted have to commit to ND? For some reason I heard two weeks for this round. Can anyone please correct me if I am wrong?! Thanks!

Still Praying in MI.

MiTennisGuy,

I still haven’t heard anything from MI either.

Do you guys think they’ll go to round two?

Students accepted in the first round have until Wednesday, May 26th to make a decision.

Hang in there, everybody!

Still praying here in NY, too…best of luck to all of you, also!

Good luck to all on the waitlist, but I’m here to tell you that there is life after a waitlist rejection from ND. While admissions are not as random as a “dart board”, the fact is that there are too many Qualified applicants that apply to ND. A waitlist slot in and of itself is proof positive that you had the “ability” factor, but there are just not enough slots for admission. The gap between admission and waitlist is not as large as you think. Be proud that you made it past thousands to be on The Waitlist. Daughter was deferred EA at ND and then wait listed. She happily chose Saint Mary’s College and was accepted at every grad school she applied to. Our daughter from the very small women’s college across the street will be attending Harvard for grad this fall. Go Waitlisted students!!! And my very best wishes on your bright future…whether at ND or elsewhere. :)

On campus-the unconfirmed is that ND is overfilled for the Class of 2014. By about 45 students-letters to this effect are supposedly to go out Monday.

I can’t imagine how ND would be OVERfilled for the class of 2014, especially considering they pulled many students from the waiting list. (myself included)

Sailmama, do you mind sharing how you heard you the Class of 2014 is over-enrolled?

I talked to my counselor on Friday, reiterating how badly I want to attend ND in the fall, and he said that if they go to another round of the waitlist he will be sure to make the best argument he can on my behalf to the committee. He confirmed they took “very few,” (which is no new news) but I flat out asked him what my chances still were and although he didn’t respond directly he indicated that the possibility was still out there and that we would of course just have to WAIT.

I say this for two reasons:
- Why would he allude to further committee meetings about which waitlisted students to pick if they were overenrolled?
- Why wouldn’t he tell me personally (since ND proclaims they understand the agony of the waitlist) not that the waitlist was over, but hint to me more that I would not have the chance to attend ND in the fall.

Does anyone know how many extra students ND tries to keep for the infamous “Summer melt?”
I hope something got miscomunicated, Sailmama!
Sorry for the long post, I’m just beside myself right now.

Info from students on campus-nothing confirmed. Daughter has been told by her admissions counselor to just hold on as well.

Did anyone from Northern Illinois (suburbs not Chicago) get off the waitlist or are we too over represented already at ND? Still hoping there’s a chance.

MiTennisGuy, are you from Michigan? If so I think we are in the same “pod” of MI, NC, SC, IA and KY, and have the same advisor (LS). I am curious as to whether anyone in these states were taken off the waitlist, or if we are also in “overrepresented” areas.

I am from a suburb of Detroit and we do have the same advisor, but I have not heard anything yet.

Hopefully spots remain and we’ll have round 2 this week!!

Good Luck to all who are waiting to hear from admissions. You are in our prayers.

Has anyone gotten any indication that if there is a round 2 it’ll be this week?
