I talked to my counselor today, and he said that if they do, it’ll be only about 15 people. I think the admissions committee is meeting today to decide if they will go to round two or not.

Does anyone know when the financial aid emails will go out for those accepted from the first round of the waitlist?

^appledude: I got my financial aid email this morning and my packet in the mail this afternoon, so yours should be coming soon!

Is there any information on which colleges at ND are drawing from the waitlist? Daughter is looking to Mendoza School of Business.

Thank you rose39, I can’t wait to find out if I can afford $50,000 a year!!!

They don’t look at your particular school or major for admissions. You are all in the “first year of studies” pot and then you declare a major and enter one of the undergraduate colleges.

The waitlist acceptance letter said that we have until May 26 to confirm our space so I wouldnt expect any more news until closer to that time.

I got the financial aid letter in the mail the day after my acceptance packet…full ride baby! no loans. i’m super pumped. (the perks of being poor and choosing a school with such a great aid program) Also, if you email finaid@nd.edu, they can email you the same info that they send via USPS.

csmith–congrats!!

As a caution to others though, after being on these boards for many years and having a S at ND, I do think they typically have loans and work study in their f/a packages. I’ve never seen anyone else not have any loans in the package, even those with 0 EFC.

I’m not sure if I would consider work study a type of loan but they only included 2600/year for me in work-study. Not too bad - especially since I’ll be working and saving during the summertime. Any extra costs my parents should be able to pick up. It’s only fair that they expect students who they are giving all their money to to help out a little bit in whatever way they can. I guess I’ll be looking for some cool on-campus jobs this summer!

Niece is still waiting-state of CT. Not a legacy or siblings, just loves the school. Admission Counselor indicated yesterday that small numbers making it off the waitlist but he will do what he can. She has contacted him a number of times and is still hopeful :)

Good luck to you and your niece N2S. I was very doubtful about getting in, but I did. I really believe that showing an interest in the school was the best thing that I did. I’m a weak applicant compared to the others but I think I showed the counselors how interested I am and they appreciated that.

Don’t be too excited about on-campus jobs for your freshman year. The admissions counselor told us that as a freshman you are assigned your on-campus job, most likely working in one of the dining halls. In subsequent years, you are free to apply for other types of on-campus jobs. Also, $2600 per year is the maximum for Federal Work Study. Regardless, it’s a wonderful opportunity and I believe that working helps to build character!

Freshmen aren’t assigned jobs. I had work study but didn’t use it my first semester. Then second semester I chose a job. But if you want to dive in right away, I totally recommend the Huddle in LaFun. It’s a great place to work (especially Sbarro) because you can work as little or as often as you want, and you get $3.00 meal tickets to use at any of the food places in LaFun, which are a great way to help counteract the dent that those inevitable Starbucks addictions that you’re going to develop will make in your flex points.

Congrats everyone who got off the waitlist! And good luck to everyone still waiting to hear.

Has anyone else accepted off the waitlist been able to get in to the admitted students website on the undergraduate admissions page? I can’t get in (yet).

If you’re talking about the admitted students page, there should be a password included in the acceptance package. (I think its the same for everybody) As far as insideND and the ND mail accounts go, you need your ndID which is included with your financial aid letter. (If you didn’t apply for financial aid - email your counselor) You need that to register for your online ND account. The ndID won’t be active until they receive and process your enrollment card and deposit.

and strawberrykiwi - what happens if you are unable to or don’t want to get a job on campus? is the amount of money they allocated to your work-study just billed to your parents?

Indeed I used that password but once you get through that page, you have to register and it’s not recognizing my information. Is the ndID a nine-digit number starting with 9?

Yes, that’s your ndID. If you just recently mailed in your deposit, I think it will take a few days for the admissions office to process your information. I mailed off my enrollment information yesterday (Monday May 17) and I was expecting it would reach their office today or tomorrow, seeing as I only live an hour way from ND. My ID is still not registering, so I’ll give it a few more days before contacting the OIT office.

Hang in there waitlist people…

Son was ready to call it quits and emailed his admissions counselor about his other schools and what classes he should be looking at to put him in the best position to transfer next year to ND. He has worked extremely hard at getting relevant letters of rec. to admissions since being waitlisted, but our family thought his chances were very slim given the high powered numbers of this years incoming freshman class. He made it. He was taken off the waitlist last Thursday and offered admission to the University.

Stay positive and keep constant dialouge going with your admissions counselor. If you truly love Notre Dame than work with your counselor on what you need to do if you are not admitted this year and what classes you need to take to make you a very competitive candidate as a transfer. The numbers are not near as high for transfers as this incoming class of freshman admits.

We here are praying for you all to get off of the waitlist and join the incoming class of 2014. Congrats to you all for making it this far - it is a tremendous accomplishment in itself. Take care of yourself in this very stressful time.

Still on the waitlist. Just sent an email to my local rep and had my counselor send another recommendation letter I had written by a teacher. Hope it helps.

5 people were admitted from my school. 2 were waitlisted. One was me, the other was called today and pulled off. I’m still waiting to hear. So anxious

applefrk715, strong letters of Rec. from people who know you well are a very good thing at this point. My son will attest to that!
