Official US November SAT discussion

yea but i say “her interest is not concerned by other scientist” doesn’t contrast ur ideas
since what she tries to do has already been done by others

Was the question comparing the two invention Africa passages “Compared to passage 1, passage 2 was more” or “compared to passage 2, passage 1 was more”?

Because depending on the order of the question the answer was more abstract or more anecdotal.

@ChrxswxN, I did get that passage. I remember it as the animation passage instead. I thought it was pretty straight-forward. I breezed through all the CR except for this one:

“The notion that a happy staff makes for happy customers is held ____, by all managers yada yada.”

I narrowed it to ‘implicitly’ and ‘figuratively,’ and put figuratively which is totally wrong. Implicit works best, but they were all terrible words.

and does anyone remember “support an action” in the “physics theory” one?

@ carbon, do you remember the other answer choices for the question you just described? I’m not sure if I had put implicit or not hahahaha and I’d probably need the other choices to jog my memory :P

@simonl I don’t remember at all :O

@anonymous

about the blatant error.

you may be right, but I believe we’re talking about different questions.

@ piedpilko It was more abstract.

dang that’s the only one i missed and it’s because I misread the question…

For the “implicitly” question, what was the passage, and what were the other choices?

people are saying the curve for writing will be -2 is an 800 with a 12 essay.
i thought the essay had nothing to do with your writing score out of 800.
someone please clarify for me!

does anyone else remember the math question that asked what is the value of k if ax+bx=c equals y=mx+k
The answer choices were a/b, -a/b, b/a, b/c and c/a or something like that.
It was question 19 of 20.

@ timetocarrigan Of course the essay has to do with your writing score. It is 30% of your score, in fact. And I do not remember that math question.

Someone please ): For the “implicit” question, what was the passage and what were the other choices?

i dont remember the exact context of the implicit question but i know that it was implicit was the correct choice because something was being implied…
this is probably no help at all but hopefully it’s somewhat reassuring

the passage was “That employees will be more productive if something somethign seems to be an _____ belief that employers have; they cannot imagine otherwise” (something like that)

@timetocarrigan. I don’t remember that question at all. Was it possibly an experimental question? If you are talking about the question regarding the greater slope, it was 4/3.

uhm… for the supreme court one i put had argued… b/c it said had a perfect verb that happened after the argument so i thought it had to be had argued… i did overthink it but doesnt it make sense? “djfhkjh had argued for over 60 years before the supreme court decided…whatever” (i dont exactly remember the question)

also, is “which i spent wrong”?!!? did anyone put that as the answer!? :(

The slope was actually 3/4.

@ anonymous [Using “had done” in English](Using “had done” in English – english-at-home.com)
The sentence included “70 years ago” so I don’t think the verb needed the past perfect tense?

anyone remember the sentence completion question with “staple”

Staple was the right answer. Grain (or whatever it was) was a staple part of their diet.
