@LucidDream Yeah I appealed to be considered for an Undeclared major. Doubt it’ll work tho lol
Appeal denied… oh well. Best of luck to yall
@daniel6kim Wow just this morning? When did you submit your appeal? I was literally shaking as I opened up the portal…It’s still in review though.
@daniel6kim If you don’t mind sharing, did you appeal with new information?
@LucidDream Yeah it was denied this morning. I submitted a new SAT score that wasnt intially used during regular admission (which was also semi-marginally higher than the orginal one). Pace it is i guess
And I submitted it literally the day after I was Pace’d
@daniel6kim I waited a whole month to appeal. Were there any other circumstances included in your appeal? I am anxious but trying to not lose hope at the same time haha. Anyways, my appeal letter was 3 pages long - opposite of what is usually stressed on CC about being straight to the point. I went with my intuition and had it proofread twice mostly to keep me from using emotional appeals.
Denied as well. Didn’t think it would hurt this much tbh.
@destolio Sorry to hear. What did you ask for in your appeal?
Well…I just checked and denied. As crazy as this may sound, I’m going to try again after May 1. It really hurts getting denied the second time.
@LucidDream same here, I’m not giving up just yet! In my appeal, I asked to be reconsidered as a biology major and if not that then as undeclared. Wasn’t the strongest appeal, but I had hope because a professor from the university that I conducted research under wrote me a recommendation letter.
@destolio I really thought I sold it…I feel like it could’ve been because I never elaborated much on why I wasn’t academically a competitive applicant due to [sob story]. Next time I’ll keep it short and express more emotions.
@destolio Are you committing to CAP/PACE as a backup plan?
@LucidDream Unfortunately, I am out of state, so that is not an option for me.
@destolio Oh I see. I am going to start working on my 2nd appeal. Probably just going to be 1-2 paragraph(s). This time I’ll submit three recommendation letters, two from my counselors and one from my AP elective teacher (Art) whom I’ve had taken 3 classes with, including one from this year since my strongest suit is Fine Arts. Maybe I should emphasize on my diverse portfolio, perhaps sending in my best work yet. It has nothing to do with my request but maybe they’ll see that I don’t limit myself to what I’m good at.
So apparently, we won’t be able to appeal a second time. “An applicant can only appeal once to be reconsidered.” I am not sure if they’ve recently changed their policy on this can somebody clarify this?
I can still access the appeal portal and create a new appeal.
Hey y’all, I just submitted my appeal today (I know, it’s super late but I finally decided to just go for it). How long does a response usually take? How long did it take for all of y’all that received an appeals decision already?
@RahulJoshi002 It’s not late. Mine took 12 business days. Since you submitted today, I’d say that you’ll hear back around May 1st. Good luck!
@LucidDream Oh ok, thanks!
