[/ul]General Comments:
I deeply congratulate those who are accepted! Now I can only sit and hope. =/

ppl doubt mikebarry, but if his family does indeed make more than 1 billion dollars, and his dad “bought” a science wing, theres nothing to doubt. This is one of those rare “developmental” cases in which a super wealthy family gets in through monetary contributions

A quick cross-check of Utah (from where MikeBarry claims to hail) admits on Blue Marble confirms that he is a liar. Nobody fits his biographical profile.

Wow you guys are seriously terrible at spotting a ■■■■■. It’s obvious that he was lying.

^ I know right?

^^^ and YOU got into yale? : P

[/ul]General Comments: I was fairly upset for a while. Decided to apply to more schools than I should be after i found out.

Has anyone else noticed that of all those who were accepted, about ~10+ students were in either Speech & Debate/forensics and/or Student Gov/Youth and Gov? Albeit a marginal number, but just an observation.

I read somewhere that those types of activities (speech/debate/forensics especially) have a very, very positive impact on admissions.

And of course, none of those exist at my school. I’ve got a lot of student gov. though… keeping my fingers crossed (RD applicant)

^ Sure they do, if you’re a national champion, just like any other EC.

I think it has less to do with impact on admissions and more to do with the kind of people who apply to Yale, especially early (i.e. a lot of debaters, musicians, etc.)

And like Jersey mentioned, if you achieve national recognition in anything, it’ll make a big difference …
