On Sleep Deprivation.

http://www.webmd.com/content/article/27/1728_60579

9-10 hrs? I don't believe we're in the same world.
I think it's funny how they don't really consider the fact that APs/honors classes give so much homework that we're up late.
The article flusters me.

Hmm, I agree. I know plenty of people who would kill to get those 6 hours of sleep a night that this article says is not enough.

Meh, we can function on like 2-3 hours, right?!

yes, and die of exhaustion at the age of 35.

I am sleeping 7-9 hours per night :)

Ummm eight hours and the kid is sleep deprived?! I sleep 5-6 hours a night maximum on weekdays and I do relatively fine. Whenever I get 8 hours of sleep I am basically a bundle of energy!

i found annoying the fact that they made moving forward the start time to 8 a good thing. jesus christ i cant imagine schools starting before 8! ours starts at 8:20 and i learn nothing in my first hour class daily. last year i didnt have a first hour and while my second hour was better, still not ideal. ideal is when we have a late start day (1 hr late for teacher curriculum meetings) + not having a first hour = dont have to get up to 10:00. even so, i still required an alarm clock on those few days...well this year im back to waking up at 7:30, although im not really awake until my 6th hour, and by 7th hour im exhausted from school anyways so that leaves me basically one hour of awake time if im lucky.

if im ever extremely rich i will start a HS of college with radical schedules and teaching habits, but then i might be too jealous of all those kids and not do it...

Hmm, I only get about 4-5 hours of sleep. Last Thursday, I stayed up till 4:00 in the morning. :D

I never feel tired during the day either...very wierd.

i get about6.5 hours sleep. my school starts at 745 (homeroom) and classes start 810.

I'm averaging like 2 lately... and I'm not functioning, not at all. yawn

Try memorizing Pi, it's almost like Lunesta. :D

Well my school starts at 8:50, it's pretty nice.

thats amazing..you're lucky. my first class ends about that time.

My school starts at 9 but goes till 4. When I have after school activities I get home at almost 7. I am usually way too tired to do any studying then.

school starts at 7 am

that sucks^^^^

haha my school starts at 8, but an extra period starts at 7 for people wanting to take another course... and my bus comes at 6:10... i get anywhere from 1- 6 hours of sleep max. :) and even when i finish my hw early... i procrastinate sleeping, i just can't go to sleep that early...

My school starts at 8:00am and I go to bed between 11:30 and 12:00, get up at 7:00 am, which means I get about 7 hours of sleep that's not too bad.

I get about 4 hrs of sleep. I think after a while, you get used to it.

It depends on the nights. When I go to sleep early (at 11) I get 8 hours. That rarely happens. I usually get 6-7 hours except on my nights when I can't sleep and get between 10 minutes-1 hour.

school schedule this year:
730 AM - prayer time!
830-905 - classes start (depends when prayers end, some days are longer than others because of certain circumstances (e.g. there are additional prayers on the beginning of the month)
M/W - 530 - school's out (in the winter we go to school when its dark and ge out when its dark - how fun!)
T - 340 - out
Th - we're supposed to have PE but it keeps getting canceled so that means 340
F - 210- yea! xcept not really cuz our sabbath sually starts a few a hours later so theres not much time to do anything.

yay days that are wayy too long! on those five thrity days when our physics tyeacher lets us take a break we are like on crack. we run around the hallways. some of us fall over laughing for no reason while others jump on the other for fun. not like a class of eleven (well ten actually) can cause much havoc but i have been known to catch this overworked bug many times. it is not healthy for us to stay in a school for that long (not to mention that the classrooms have no windows!) o sprightly innocence where art thou?!
