astrid - Do you mean SAT II writing from the old SAT? I know that if you took the new SAT(with writing) it is only necessary to have two additional SAT IIs. It used to be three SAT IIs, including writing - now it is only two additional.

26e - Yes, I have heard you can do that.

well, I mean the SAT II Writing that used to be offered before the new SAT arrived. It's a subject test. I took it like a year ago, and I studied really hard for it, and I was pretty shocked to find that they might not accept it anymore. I wish someone would have told me that before I took it.

I think the late deadline for the Nov. 5th SAT was over a long time ago... bites nails

i really have no idea. you show up with ID, and say you want to take an SAT II as a standby. if they have extra materials (b/c someone doesnt show up, usually) they may let you take the test, and then you, like pay later or something. anyway, http://www.collegeboard.com

Was I supposed to include my guidance counselor recommendation/secondary school record sheet as part of the recommendation providers on the application

nonskater, i said i like to rescue old women from burning buildings, clean up city parks, give food to the hungry, help build shelters for the homeless, negotiate peace treaties between foreign countries, buy and sell companies, win pro golf tournaments, and model men's clothing in my free time

Recs - in addition to the teacher recs, I have a rec from a previous employer. I would like to submit it but I heard that the admissions committee might take it as if you need more proof that you're good, because 2 recs won't suffice. Any opinions?

Lol, there was a 'joke app' that we saw in Eng class - one person wrote 'i can bake 30min brownies in 20mins'. heehee. ;)

I just checking over the Adobe copy of part 1 of my online application and I noticed that all my personal information appears on the Accelerated Program sheet, as well as my "signature" at the bottom. This concerns my because I'm not applying to a joint program and at the top of the sheet, it says not to fill this out. What did I do wrong on the online portion? All I did was select Wharton, then B.S. Econ. Thanks for any help.

aaron: I'm pretty sure that there is one committee that is responsible for decisions for all of the different schools. However, the rates of acceptance do vary between say, Wharton, and the College.

dnm: I was wondering about this a while ago, but I found out that good supplemental recs can only help you. If there is a defficiency in your application, an amazing supplemental rec that reveals something about you can make up for it or at least put you in a more favorable light. If you send 5 recs, that's a sign that you're trying to cover something up, but 1 or 2 well-written supplemental recs can just add to the package. Just make sure that they don'e repeat the same thing over and over. They must reveal something not otherwise known about you.

Oh, and Penn isn't rolling admissions. Penn State is. :)

^ no, the teacher rec forms are strictly for the teacher recs. For supp recs, the person just types up a letter with your name, SS, and birthday at the top.
