when the french kids asked, 'what is zat?'

i didnt want to translate it literally as 'stick of mozzerella' so i said fried cheese .. they thought it was good nonetheless..

that's cool that u have french exchange students, or whatever (or is that your neighbour?). we only have one exchange student (that i know of) and he's german, and is so american...its no fun

Nah.. we have about 30 kids from Rouen. They leave on Halloween, then we're getting about 30 kids from Espana a week after they leave.

so what kind of programme is this?

I really don't know, it's been going on for decades.

JUST SUBMITTED MY APPLICATION!! What a relief! Now its the waiting game.....

Umm.. for the certification / signature form you get after submitting part 1.. has anyone else noticed that it's for last year?

"...I will complete the required College Board Tests before December 2004. I understand that I will be notified of a decision in mid-December. The University of Pennsylvania is my first choice college. I will accept a place in the September 2005 entering class if one is offered to me under the Early Decision Plan..."

This won't be a problem will it?

For the teacher recommendations, can they fill it out and hand it in to my guidance counselor who can mail everything together? or should i give each of them a stamped enveloppe?

I would give them an addressed and stamped envelope. If your school has a policy of giving everything to the counselor to mail, then that's fine, but usually, proper "rec ettiquette":) is to give the teachers an envelope.

regarding penn's essays (in partic #6), does it have to be double/single spaced and what size font? or does it not matter as long as its legible?
thanks

doesnt matter.. as long as it fits on one page

something weird happened to me, on the online application (and when i view it online) one of my essays is completely normal, but when i printed it out.. there appears to be a typo

", by itself," <-- as it appears online
",b y itself," <-- as it appears when printed

i find it tres bizarre..

dw, hazelnut nutella on crepes is out of this world... you'll forget all bout pb n j

Man, it's been two weeks since I've submitted Part 1A. I'm starting to wrorry...well not really, but I'd like to see a post card from Penn. =D

maybe it means you just didnt forget anything

no everyone should get a postcard, the postcard just says that they've received your application

When do they give you a PIN and online account? After everything?

What heading should I put on the Penn Essay?

for Why Penn, simply write Why Penn, at the top. Really, you don't even need that since there are designated places online for where to upload your essay. On paper, I guess you should title it Why Penn.

For the Personal Statement, write which option you are choosing to write about (6a, 6b, or 6c).

hmm Im applying by paper. SHould I state the question or do u think University of Pennsylvania Essay 6b will suffice? And do i need like an ss number or a name on there?

how do you submit your application through mail? Do you rip out the pages from the application packet and put it into the given envelope? But then it says not to seperate the pages. This seems like kinda a dumb question but I need to know asap! thank you.

Open the staples in the middle and all will be revealed...

i got my postcard today (thursday) and i submitted part 1 on monday and part 2 on tuesday

then again, i do live in boston and im assuming boston-philadelphia takes the post only about 1-2 days?
