Penn App. - Q & A!

u can submit part one if u want...to start part II, go to the main menu using the buttons at the top of the screen (don't click on application home, click the link above it called main) now part II of the application should be at the bottom of this screen

Q1: what happens if i send in section I before section II. or should i just send them together?

Q2: Um....what's a varsity letter mean? (i'm a geek :()

To answer your questions, you can submit part 1 then part 2 or together and a varsity letter is like for a sport that you put on the jacket.

oh yeah. this question has been asked earlier about the AP testing section and how they don't want you to list your AP classes under the schedule part and list them in the AP section instead. But if you look at the printed version of the application, its asks to list your AP classes under the schedule section anyway. so exactly what are we suppose to do?

also how does penn look at a 3 on an AP exam?

When they ask for previous AP scores, do we also have to send them the actual AP score report (like how we send them the SAT score report)?

Should I safely assume that the Huntsmans Program essay has a 1-pg limit?

i just submitted part II of my application! It's a big relief to have it finished...anyway i think someone asked before about headings for the essays...after i pushed the submit button, i could see my application in pdf format and my essays automatically had an id #, my name, and the essay number put at the top of each one so there is no need to put ur own heading on them...hope that helps

1) I think you should just stick with what the application says, depending on which one you're using. As long as the scores are there, they'll read em.

2) A "3" alone probably won't affect your application at all.

1) I think you just write the scores into the app. Most schools do not have a formal way of receiving your AP scores for college app.

CMH, when you submitted your essays, did it literally only have the essay (no heading, etc.)? So, do NOT need to put our SSN, name, birth date, or heading?

I want to hide my 2 on my ap euro exam, how do I do this? I know you can, just not sure how

krabble- yea u don't need to put SSN or any of that, before i had my SSN, name, and a heading but when i submitted it, that stuff got partly covered up my the heading their system gave it, once u preview ur app in pdf form, u can still go back and change stuff if u need too or if u really want to give them a heading just make sure u move it down a couple lines or put it in the center of the first line

Why would you need to hide scores? Do you have to send them a score report for your AP tests too?

anyone? How do I put AP scores beyond the ones they provide space for on the online app?

gmman, I think it's safe to assume that you can send an extra sheet with any extra information. Or you can just list your most impressive scores.

And yeah, how do you hide an AP score?

lol I have the same score on all 7.. but online, how would I send an extra sheet?

And I think you can just not put the score on? Not sure about that though, might want to ask an admission officer, make sure they don't know your name though ;)

in the part 1 online apps, it says are u a us citizen, i clicked no
then next line states, if no wats ur visa status, what is ur visa status if u r a permanent resident??

puttin permanent resident in does not fit the chardacter limit
help?!!!

also how does hte interview process work

dreaming_melancholy, I think you might be considered a Resident Alien, but I'm not 100% sure, so call up the undergrad admissions office.

Regarding the interview process: At the info session I attended, they said that about half of applicants get interviews. Who gets an interveiw is based on the number of available alumni in the area in which you live. So, if you live in Oregon, your chances for an interview are lower than that of an applicant who lives in Pennsylvania. They do pick kind of randomly; just because you don't get an interview does not mean that you won't get in. If you do get called up and asked if you would like an interview, however, you should probably say yes.

Ok, stupid question again. My entire application (except for the essays of course) is in caps. Does it matter? I don't want to look like I'm shouting or anything.. lol

I'm sure someone asked this already, but I don't have time to go back and look at 5 pages of questions. So here it is. If you're submitting the app thru mail, for the essays, what can of headings do you put? Do I put the question? Or a title? What other info needs to be there? Thanks in advance
