does it really matter what major i put on my application? if i indicate a certain major on my app and then i change my mind about it then im allowed to change it b4 my freshman year right?

right (8910)

thanks 26e! what exactly do u mean by those numbers tho?

counting up to the minimum character count

actually, u can change it once your there...i'm not certain about what the process is to change it before you arrive in sept 06. but i'm pretty sure you can change, and i am sure that it doesnt really matter what your major is, as long as you stay in your college for the first year

I just finished one of my essays, and it's 683 words, but fits on one page. Is this too long, or is it acceptable?

about the minimum character count- random numbers = hilarious. for now im leaning towards the Biological Basis of Behavior major so that's what i put on my application. I wanted to do a science major but the others required too much physics :), and BBB just sounds way more interesting.

cosmo, I think it is acceptable if it is within the one page limit. I'm actually just finishing mine as well..........I feel so accomplished;)

As you can tell, procrastination is the bane of my existence, lol

lol mine is 785.. but it fits on one page

the why penn essay is a bit different.. ive shrunk it down to size 10 font but ive still got a lot of editing to do..

then i still have the huntsman essay to do.. my GD said I needed to have my application in last tuesday, but she bought my excuse, "I still have meetings with English teachers to edit my essays." (which I do, it's just I haven't exactly finished writing yet...)

Why Penn - 647
Page 217 - 535

For the professor question, are we allowed to conduct research with professors only in our school (SAS, Wharton, Nursing), or anywhere?

i think it's pretty loose

The "Grades Participated" box only has room for like 4 characters (in the extracurricular page). If I participated in something in 10, 11, and 12 grade, do I put 3 or what?

i would write 10-12

wow.. my 217 essay is 785 words and my why penn essay is 1101.. both fit on one page.. argh

wow....what font?

Yes, I am applying to quite possibly the #4 school in the country.

God, I'm an idiot.

well i plugged in every combination i could think of till i got to "10-12", so really, you're not that bad :)

where does it say that essays must be limited to one page? (im doing the online app)

gmman, on the paper app, it says to keep essays within one page.

There's nothing like hopeful Quakers, lol. I just adore everyone on the Penn Board, we've got a really great dynamic going:)

I hope we all get in, too! =)
