Is there a FB group for class of 2021 up yet? I would like to get to know fellow potential panthers and maybe look for a potential roommate. However, the only groups that come up when I search seem pretty sketchy, there are two fake looking accounts that have made “official” groups for many different colleges…
This is the group that is hosted by Pitt Admissions and Student Affairs. It just got started, but there should be a lot of people joining in the next few months as more students are admitted: https://www.facebook.com/groups/PittClassof2021/
You will have to request access, but we will let you in! We keep it closed to deter spammers as much as possible.

@hailtopitt1787 I see all these comments about past scholarship recipients. Can you link me to that list?
@MDseeker …the thread from last year’s Class of 2020 merit recipients is here:
@MDseeker, the thread carachel2 will be your best best. We don’t keep an exhaustive list of past scholarship recipients on our site.
Best of luck!

@hailtopitt1787 I received my acceptance letter to the undergrad two weeks ago, and my acceptance into the honors college last week. If I got accepted into the GAP for medicine do you know when would I receive that? I got a 1570 on the SAT, 35 on the ACT, and I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA. It seems like I meet all the qualifications on the websites, but some people seem to be getting theirs within like a week. Thanks!
@lillian98, Guarantee letters get sent out about 10 business days after the admit letter is sent out. If you have any questions, feel free to contact our office! 412-624-7488.

@lillian98 GAP for med school is an application + interview if a finalist, final decisions and offer of GAP is in 2017 - Feb/March I believe https://oafa.pitt.edu/explore/guaranteed-admissions-programs/medicine-gap/
Now that the October SAT scores have been sent to colleges, how long should I expect to wait for a decision if I was told to wait for the October SAT score release?
@dbutler, It could take a few weeks, but you shouldn’t have to wait too much longer. Best of luck!

got an acceptance email on 10/25 to dietrich school of arts and sciences!
Has anyone applied on or after 10/12 and received an acceptance? My D applied on the 12th and we are still waiting to hear from Pitt.
Applied a long time ago but school transcript just arrived last week so I wonder how long a decision takes after the file is “fully completed” - is it several more weeks most likely?
@CA1543, That is correct! It takes a few weeks after the application is complete for our admissions committee to review the application and notify you of the decision.
Best of luck!

I have already been accepted but I just received my October SAT scores. If I send them in to better my chances of getting a scholarship, will they automatically be updated or do I need to call the office of admissions?
@emilyh2p, You may want to shoot us an email and let us know they are coming. That way the Scholarship Committee can keep an eye out for them: oafa@pitt.edu.

I just got my Ocotber SAT scores in with a 1310. I’m aware this might be a bit on the lower side for Pitt, but I do meet other requirements (top 5%, rigorous course study). I’m signed up to take the November one, but I want to send in my application as soon as possible. Is there a way I can make a note on my application saying that I’m planning on taking it again with a chance of improving my scores? For instance, if they were to look at my application with my current score and reject me based on that, would they wait to see how I do on my November ones?
@collegehopeful71 The basic consensus, from what I’ve gathered, is that you can indicate that you’re sending more scores. Whether they wait for them or not depends. My best friend applied and sent her scores from sometime in the Spring, and indicated on her application that she was retaking the SAT in October as well. Pitt reviewed her application as it was, and decided that the scores she already sent were good enough, and admitted her. So, if the scores you send are good, they might not wait for the second set.
In contrast, another one of my good friends received a letter saying that they were waiting on another set of scores before making a decision on his application.
It really all depends, but I’d say to send in your application as is! Best of luck to you!
@collegehopeful71, Feel free to send in and indicate you are taking the test again in November. The Admissions Committee will decide if they need to wait for the scores before making a decision and will inform you if they decide to wait.
Best of luck!
