ok great - thanks so much!

@hailtopitt1787, can applicants update the SRAR with first quarter grades or does admissions only want updated first semester grades?

@rmjk55, Please provide whatever your letter asked for! If you have questions about your specific letter, feel free to contact our office: 412-624-7488 or oafa@pitt.edu.

DD got her acceptance video by email yesterday and is very excited. She’s hoping to get her GAP invitation soon. Could someone call out how and when it is sent please?

@mom22DDSs - IT usually takes around couple of weeks to get GAP invitation from medical school. Admission letter will say if student was referred to medical school (GAP) and also honors college admission.

Thank you @srk2017 ! We’re now eagerly waiting for admission letter.

I just got an email saying I was rejected to the Pittsburgh campus, but accepted into the Johnstown campus. They got back to me in 9 days, which makes me suspicious. Other people I know that applied to Pitt had to wait months before they got accepted. Is there any way I can re-apply to get into the Pittsburgh campus?

Also, would my major have an influence on my acceptance? I have a mediocre GPA but applied to Dietrich as a pre-med major. If this is true, can I reapply to the Pittsburgh campus as a different major or school? My GPA and SAT scores are below.

GPA (w) - 3.3
SAT (new) - 1320

What was your math score?

Are you retaking SAT? Do your grades show an upward trend?

@mommdc My math score was a 680 and I am not sure if I should take the December SAT.

My grades show a good upward trend as well.

Well that seems high enough to me. I would see if you can send in first semester grades and maybe retake SAT and be reconsidered. Did you only take SAT once? Because they superscore SAT.

@mommdc I took multiple SATs but the October test happened to be my highest superscore as well.

Do you know how I would go about re-applying?

@12345college —chiming in here and completely unexperienced with this aspect of admissions, but how well do your know your regional Pitt admissions recruiter? D has found ours to be invaluable—they are amazing. Have you reached out to yours yet? They are super responsive.

@carachel2 I have not reached out to them yet. Do you know how they would help me be considered for the Pittsburgh campus?

@srk2017 @hailtopitt1787 - My daughter applied for Bioengineering at Swanson and got her acceptance letter last Friday. She was eligible for Honors college and the scholarship committee is reviewing her app but there was no mention of GAP. Does that mean her application was not forwarded to the Med school?

@dadofsk - I am sorry for giving incorrect information. GAP invitation letter comes later. I checked the letters my S received and he got GAP letter one week after getting the admission letter.

@12345college, I would reach out to the Admissions recruiter and get some information on possibly appealing your admissions decision. Did you do the short answer questions?

@mommdc I did do the short answer questions. Do you have any reasons as to why they would reply so quick (less than 10 days after application was submitted)

@12345college What is your Unweighted GPA? 3.3 may be a little low if that is your Weighted GPA. I, too, am new at this. Just going off the Common Data Set data for Pitt.

@hadmeathello My unweighted GPA is 3.0 and my weighted GPA is 3.3
