@olive4prez Congratulations on your acceptance! Are you out of state or in state? Have you visited Pitt? When my daughter visited Pitt she fell in love with the urban feel of the campus and she had a great experience meeting with the advisor for her major. Wherever you go to school, good luck!

@flashk Out of state and I did not visit campus
My daughter was asked to submit mid-year grades, which her counselor did last week. Any idea when decisions will be made on these students?
@Buckeyemom85, You should hear back within a few weeks. We need a little time to receive and process the grades and then the admissions committee will take another look at the application.
Best of luck!

So I got accepted into Pitt back in November, but I recently sent in updated (better) sat scores. Is it too late for me to be considered for merit scholarship? Or does the December 15th deadline only require that you APPLY before the 15th?
@collegehopeful71, We require that the application and all supporting materials be submitted before December 15th for automatic consideration. If you got your application, scores, short answer questions, app fee, and SRAR or transcript in by December 15, then you will be reviewed for scholarships. If you got everything in on time and would just like those new scores to be included in your consideration, I would encourage you to send a follow up email to our office about the updated scores to be safe: oafa@pitt.edu.

@hailtopitt1787 yes I called them today and they said my new scores will be viewed for consideration again. Thank you for your help!
Generally, it will be the standard admissions time gap, about 3-5 weeks. When they ask for a mid year report, normally it is because the test scores submitted were not high enough, and they need to reevaluate.
I was accepted to main campus for Bio today! My creds are as follows:
New SAT: 1260
GPA: 4.1
7 AP Classes
Summa Cum Laude scholar
Varsity softball player
Senior class president
Head of prom committee
Many extracurriculars and service hours
In state (about forty minutes from the city)
Legacy applicant
White female, middle class
Fantastic recommendations and very good short answer questions
Hope this helps someone!! Best of luck!
@hailtopitt1787 Hi!! I applied awhile ago and I was wondering when I would get an application status portal. Would you by any chance know?
@deadroses, Information about how to log into the portal should come within a week or so. If it has been longer, you should contact our technology services team at technology.pitt.edu. They are available 24/7 and can be reached via chat on their website or at 412-624-4357.

Hi Hailtopitt1787: My D has been accepted to the pre-phamD program. From your website: Students who have demonstrated academic success in high school, score 1300 or higher on the SAT I (Math and Critical Reading sections), with a minimum of 660 in the math section, and specify Pharmacy on the application will be offered the conditional acceptance if available. (http://www.bulletins.pitt.edu/undergrad/35-pharmacy.htm)
Do you know if conditional acceptance is still available? Her SAT and math section score are higher than the requirement.
The admissions letter your daughter received should indicate whether she is being offered guaranteed admission (basically the conditional acceptance you are writing about, check out our site for more up-to-date information: oafa.pitt.edu/guarantee) to Pitt Pharmacy or whether she is admitted to the School of Arts and Sciences on a prepharmacy track. If you have further questions about your daughter’s specific admissions decision, please contact our office: 412-624-7488 or oafa@pitt.edu

@ycph06 I hope so because having conditional pharmacy acceptance is a huge advantage.
My D applied very early because of the fact that only about 50 conditional spots are available.
Maybe you can contact the pharmacy school and ask them if all spots have been filled?
Your D would start out in pre-pharmacy in Dietrich A&S school, no matter if she has the conditional acceptance or not.
@mommdc and @Hailtopitt1787: thanks! I will check with pharmacy school.
@ycph06, It would be best to contact our office, actually! We will be able to look your daughter up in our system and also talk to you about the Guarantee process in general. We will be happy to assist: 412-624-7488.

@ycph06, did your daughter meet all the requirements? When did she apply?
I am new to this site, and have not had a chance to read all 54 pages on this very active thread. My s got notified that he needed to resubmit his grades after 2Q marking period was complete. Does anyone know how long it will take to hear back from admissions after this step is complete? He will have a 3.7 GPA, 1320 SATs, lots of AP and Honors classes, etc. Thanks in advance for the insight.
