@Byrdie12 Thank you! I guess I need to send an email to find out if I am eligible or not, because my mother graduated from Pitt xD, maybe she’s too old!
Oh, how recently have you received it? I don’t want to wait it out and miss some deadline on accident
@PAwind98 You’re welcome. I received the email on 2/17 and there is a deadline to apply for the Pitt Alumni Association legacy scholarship of March 3rd.
@mommdc Yes I did xD! That’s why I was so surprised to hear about the scholarships; She called today and was told she’d get a call back by the end of the day, never happened! Wonderful xD, I guess we shall try again tomorrow!
I was admitted nearly 2-3 weeks ago to the school of science. I am a US citizen, OOS applicant and I’m residing outside of the US. I wanted to ask whether I will receive an admit package via postal mail and if so, when to expect the same.
I got an email from Pitt which has a link to a video and i thought it was just an advertisement. that video turned out to be an “acceptance letter”. Nice way to inform the decision Pitt !
My son had his application in in September. Pitt sent him a letter requesting his mid-year grades. His mid-year grades were sent from his school the beginning of February, and he still hasn’t heard back yet. Does anyone know how long this process takes? It’s very disheartening!
@xoxoaero416, If his school sent us the grades in the beginning of February, you should hear back shortly. It takes us a few weeks to receive and process the grades and review his application again.
In order to be considered for these scholarships, you must’ve been eligible for the University Scholarships(top 5%, 33+, 1490+, etc.). Disheartening news for myself, as someone who fell just below the standardized test score. Normally, I’d expect differently, but, it is how it is. Congratulations to all of you who have been sent the application, you have certainly earned.
Let’s just hope I can win a lot of small, independent scholarships to make Pitt a viable option for me!
@hailtopitt1787 Appreciate your team being on CC providing some answers and directions to students and parents. My son applied in late January and received the auto email saying: “Thank you for submitting your application to the University of Pittsburgh. This is an automatically generated e-mail to confirm we have received your application. Within a week, you will receive an e-mail with log-in information to check your application status and additional details regarding the completion of your application.” Several weeks have passed and he has’t received the email with log-in info. Should he remain patient or call admissions? Thanks.
He should check his spam filter, and make sure he is checking the email address he supplied on his application.
If it is still nowhere to be found, he can contact Technology Services. They are the ones who assign the passwords and would be able to assist with retrieval or other troubleshooting. They have a number and 24/7 chat window on their website: http://technology.pitt.edu/
Hi everyone! I committed back in October and I was wondering if anyone knew when we start getting on campus housing papers to fill out. Also does anyone know if you can pick your own roommate? I met a few people through the schools facebook page that I would love to room with so I am hoping I can have them as my roommates. Thanks in advance!!
You should receive a big envelope with information about housing choices, LLCs, housing contract.
Make sure to read it.
Also info about meal plans.
If you want to live in honors LLC you and the roommate you want to live with have to request each other and each of you needs to fill out the honors LLC application.
On the online housing application I think you can list a roommate. And several housing choices in order of preference.
My D used roomsync to find a compatible roommate at Pitt.
A while ago I think I read something on the Pitt website that basically said if a student is not offered any scholarship money their first year, then they are not eligible for any merit money at all for the following years. Is this true or am I just misreading?
