Thank you financiallylost! The IB program @ PAHS is pretty rough. Which one did you go to? (I’m assuming PAHS). I had to debate between the Math & Sciences and Health Sciences and ultimately chose Health Sciences haha. Hmm, the person you talk of, did they get in through the Access program? I have a feeling I know her haha.

Bumping because I’m seeing chances threads again.

I wish I would’ve seen this thread before I made my own.

I know my SAT is low and it really bothers me because I work my butt off, but I just can’t score great on that test :frowning:
WHAT DO MY CHANCES LOOK LIKE?

i live in nj
weighted gpa is 3.7
sat 1910
2 ap’s(physics and statistics)
skipped a year in math so took calc junior year
interested in engineering program, specifically civil eng.

dmt117: i would say you defiantly are gonna get in, if your weighted gpa is over 3.7 then you are an honors candidate as your sat is over 1350 and should hear back in February with you decision

lakegirl11: what college are you applying to? Your sat is low especially for engineering, but i suggest take the ACT, I did and did much better…but if you cant raise your sat/act then your grades could make up for it

egroeg: very likely to get in, perhaps take a few more APs but if your gpa >3.7 and you have an sat >1350 you will be an honors candidate, i would say if you are an honors candidate then you pretty much are gonna get in as long as you write good essays

Applied E.D. to Engineering (in-state)
W GPA: 3.95
SAT: 1410/1600, 2030/2400

I’m an African American male from NoVa going to a FCPS high school…

nobodyy? :/

JohnnyRemy - if you are attending a FCPS you should have access to the Noviance scatter-diagrams which will give you the best guess on your chances. All of your information looks good with the sole exception of your Math SAT. If you had hopes for VT Engineering then you may need to reconsider. Otherwise, definitely apply and good luck.

I checked out the scattergram… It shows my SAT being above most, however my gpa is below many. It makes it kind of confusing lol. But no I wanst applying for engineering or anything to that sort, I was applying for liberal arts lol. Does that help at all? And I am trying to raise my math score, I’m taking the test again in december. Thanks for your help!
