Pre-Screen Results list for class of 2024

Haven’t heard from Texas State but on getacceptd in the resource area with my schedule is the ability to signup for a time with Texas State. Does that mean my DD passed her pre-screen?

I’ll share what we did last year. We only did Chicago unifieds scheduled 9 auditions there and scheduled 9 on campus auditions. We traveled every weekend between Jan 12 and March 2. We were in Chicago Sat-Thur.

As for Chi Uni scheduling, All of ours were at Palmer. We did have 2 dance calls off property, one at Ballet Chicago and one at Joffrey Ballet. They are both quite close to Palmer, literally only 2 or 3 blocks. We arrived early on Saturday and used that day to settle in and walk around and find the audition rooms. if you have auditions at other hotels I would suggest going there to see how long it takes and to familiarize yourself with the logistics. I would also locate any dance call locations…we did not do this and actually walked right by Ballet Chicago the first time on our way to the dance call and had to backtrack! My dd was more than a little stressed out by this

UMich dance call is on Sunday and there are a couple of other schools that have stuff on Sunday as well. I would book a hotel room for longer than you think you’ll need initially and then drop days if you need to.

While staying at the Palmer House was very convenient, staying off site is not a deal breaker. Had friends that stayed at the Hampton Majestic which was half a block away and paid half as much as I did. The Silversmith is also quite close.

We scheduled 3-4 things per day. She had time for walk ins but didn’t do any.
She had dance calls at 8 am mon and tue then we scheduled a voice audition for 10-10:30 allowing time for her to change etc. then would have another one scheduled 11 - noon. Then lunch. Do not forget to schedule time for lunch!! then there would be time in the afternoon for a school that required a half a day, or another voice audition around 1:30. Pt Park had a dance calls at 5 each day and you had to pick one to attend. Wednesday she had CM and they requested an entire morning 8-12:30, it was soooo long. Some were finished very quickly, but alas we were there until the very end. That afternoon she had a voice audition and later that day a dance call. Thursday we just had ccm dance @ 9 and ccm voice @ 10:28. flight out was later that afternoon.

To schedule this I listed on yet another spreadsheet all the days across the top and the schools under each day they were there. It really helped me in prioritizing when each school needed to be scheduled. For instance, it was very clear that UMich was only there 2 days (not including the sunday dance call) and that needed to be scheduled first. then same with Rider, only 2 days, so I made that the second priority. Not very many were there on Thursday so that was easy as well. After I did those it just started falling into place.

Sorry for the info overload! Best of luck everyone, it seems crazy but somehow it works out.

@MTorBust2020 I am totally green on all of this however my D got an email today telling her to go there and schedule her audition slot. She got an email a few days ago telling her she passed. So it sounds good to me!

We submitted prescreens to U of OK on Oct 15 and got a yes about a week later.

@MTorBust is the get accepted resource schedule working for you? My daughter also got a callback from Texas State (she first got a message from Ms. Hopkins through get accepted about a week ago and then the message you’re talking about from Jessica last night). I don’t see anything when I click on the “my schedule” in the resource tab. Is it working for you???

@excitedformygirl I should asked you the same question I asked @MTorBust . Is the resource tab on get accepted working for you to schedule? I can’t see anything when I click on it. I went through this process with my older daughter a few years ago, and this is the first time a school has ever asked to use getaccepted to schedule the audition. I wonder if it’s a new feature?

@singerdancermom We haven’t tried to schedule yet because there is only the option to select audition dates that are either at the school or Chicago unifieds. When she submitted to accepted the notification said she would hear between Nov 4 - Dec 4, so I am waiting to see if she gets an email on Monday. She only submitted it on Oct 31, so I am thinking she passed but they weren’t able to send out the email yet (or at least that is what I hope)

@MTorBust No she had trouble as well, it is not in her schedule.though she was told it would be .I am sure it’s just a glitch they will fix on Monday.

@MTorBust when they originally sent my daughter the invite, NY dates were listed. They’re not at Perl studios though… I think the invite said they are in Chelsea. It was an almost full day audition.

@SingerDancerMom Where do you see the detail. We got the audition in the scheduler but no details.

Definitely getting real. Wish I could do something about the emotional roller coaster ride and it’s just begnning. Guess that’s what happens with a true Drama Queen (pun intended). So far, Prescreen pass at Roosevelt and Point Park, redirect to acting at Emerson, and her first “No” at CMU. Several other auditions scheduled.

Of ocurse she’s just focused on the “no” as that was her dream school. Have to keep on reminding her there’s no such thing, but rather a dream TYPE of school and most of these highly selective BFAs would all do the trick (and some of the better BAs). Easy for an adult to say that though.

Good luck to everyone!

For those that have received Passes from Texas State, the get accepted audition schedule is working now!?

I went through this 4 years ago with my older daughter, now with daughter number two. One of the things I discovered on the LAST day of Chicago auditions that I wish I knew the 1st day is that they have a great gym with Yoga classes!! It was much appreciated when I discovered it but definitely could have used a few more sessions because this process is STRESSFUL!

@excitedformygirl The audition details are on the school’s website. I’ve noticed that many of the schools have the audition schedules listed.

Hi,
So, my D hasn’t heard anything from Texas State. regarding her prescreen results (she submitted in September) But, today she received an email from the school with a video from the Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communication welcoming her to the School of Fine Arts… It started out “Welcome, you’ve arrived…” she contacted the admissions department and asked for clarification and they said it was a general email to everyone who applied to the department. Did anyone else get the email?

So far 2 yes’s from Point Park & Pace, 1 no from Otterbein. Kind of surprised about the otterbein rejection. My coach told me Otterbein should be one of the easier prescreens to pass. Sucks because I was really starting to love otterbein. Oh well! Onto the next

@jupdancemom yes D has gotten several correspondence from Texas state ( housing, financial aid, fine arts, etc…) since she was academically accepted, but still no answer on pre screen which was submitted 9/18

@SalahNik - NO prescreen is an easy pass & MANY people get shut out completely…congrats on your 2 yesses

DD passed Shenandoah pre-screen - submitted 10/12

Anyone waiting with me on prescreen from Catawba? Anyone hear a result? Thx

@MTorBust2020 congrats!!
