My H is taking this much much harder than I am so far. Very weepy. The end of an era when all of our kids are living with us in the same house.

We'll see how I do when we actually drop her and drive away.

Took D to view the Degas (her favorite artist) art exhibit at Harvard and then to dinner at a new restaurant in Harvard Square she had wanted to try as part of the good-bye process. H, D, and I will be flying to CA on Saturday to help her move in first thing on Sunday morning.

D saw that we have from 5-5:30 p.m. for good-byes. Her response: "Why so long? What are we supposed to do for half an hour? H: "We'll take lots of pictures of you, your roommate, you and us, etc., in your room." D: "You'll be taking pictures of my foot kicking you out the door!" I guess she's ready! We'll go on to visit relatives and be on our first vacation sans kids after that, but it'll be strange returning to an empty home.

That was what brought me down, exactly. It's a major transition, a life passage. On the fun side, daughter just got home yesterday from her summer research job; her boyfriend is taking the train here, and they'll spend a few days with us before going back to the college bubble. She's playing World of Warcraft with her little brother (and getting instruction from him) as I type this.l
