@Axelia That’s so cool, I live in Houston, too!
I applied for a travel grant, and hopefully we’ll be able to cover the rest of the cost, I’m just happy to get an invitation.

I’m also waitlisted for the conference and I think there is a good chance we might be able to go. It seems to me that the travel barrier is a big problem for a lot of people.

@TheAutumnLeaves Are you sure that means a summer program nomination? Oh boy, I do hope it does.

I got accepted also! I’m sorry to those who did not.
AH, I wish I got the telementoring program for Amherst!!!
Anyone going to Princeton’s conference?

Also, for those going to Princeton’s conference, this is the official facebook group!

@kei04086 @Fali15 @Inertmuse Sorry to hear guys, I didn’t get it either. You information is out there however and A LOT of colleges and universities, Quest partners or not, look at all kids that applied through Questbridge. I know a guy from my school, he didn’t get the Pre Scholorship. However he got contacted by Duke University BECAUSE of his Questbridge application, and was given a full ride to the university. I also know some people that didn’t get the Pre Scholorship but got the NCM and vis versa. So I wouldn’t feel to bad, just keep working hard. Remember to apply to safety colleges next year as a fall back plan. Congrats to everyone that got the scholarships and everyone that didn’t, don’t give up hope. :D

Hey @Migoto and everybody else, do you guys know how impressive, exactly, getting the College Prep Scholarship is on paper? Like you know, when you put it in the “awards/honors” section of college apps, is it something really big?

@drbio101 if you are applying for Questbridge other scholarship NCM it looks good to colleges. From what I hear though the Questbridge people picked the winners not the partner colleges. So it doesn’t really guarantee a chance at getting into one of the partners. However it does show you didn’t waste your summers and that you are clearly good enough to compete with the best. This is all in my opinion and based off of what past winners and other have said, so this may not be 100% accurate.

Does anybody know how they will tell you the results for summer programs? By e-mail or telephone?

Yes! I got nominated for the All expense paid Campus visit and waitlisted for the Conference. Didn’t apply for the summer thing. Congrats to whoever got accepted! (Fingers crossed)

@Choynibyo
I received an email from a Questbridge staff member yesterday asking me to call her because she wanted to talk to me about one of the summer programs. I called her today and she told me I got nominated for the Stanford summer program and that she’ll help me apply directly to Stanford or something like that. (According to the Questbridge website, students who are nominated for summer programs are contacted in April.)

@axelia congrats! I wish I got that. Also, I know you said April, but are you sure you didn’t mean “Mid-May”? That’s what the website says. Also, does that mean that if we have not got an email for a nomination to the Stanford program, we probably didn’t get it?

yes! i got one on one counseling, stanford conference invitation, nomination to campus visit, and I think the mid-may part means that i got nominated for summer school.
I am really surprised that i got the counseling since there are only 60 recipients, but I think that might be due to my exceptional test scores and low income bracket.

Also for those wanting to know about summer programs.
http://www.questbridge.org/for-students/cps-summer-programs
click read more for all of them and they all say that you will be contacted by april if you were selected.

@shinpachi woah, you got the summer school programs too?? When did they contact you?

@drbio101 Thanks!
And you might be right about the date. My account says mid-May too. It could be that it’s in May this year and Questbridge just didn’t change the date on that info page. However, I’m only nominated for the summer program right now. Questbridge will send my application and other financial information to Stanford, which will then decide if it wants to accept me, and maybe that will be confirmed by mid-May. But I wouldn’t worry about not having gotten an email by now; it probably takes a while for Questbridge staff (I think it’s just one person in charge of this) to contact all the nominees. Or you could have gotten nominated for another program and they’re emailing students in a certain order.

No that part just means that you are nominated and not selected yet. I have heard that stanford has already contacted a few people already, so just pray for the other schools…

@Shinpachi Looks like you like Gintama! Me too!!

@Axelia Does this mean even if you are contacted by the end of April you still can’t be 100% sure about whether you can get the summer program or not?

Ok so I know that Quest for Excellence awards aren’t supposed to be given out until June. But apparently some people have already head about them. Has anyone received a Quest for Excellence award?!
