Rank: Penn, Brown, and Dartmouth (In Prestige and Undergraduate Education)

My friends and I got into these three schools under the early decision plan. We were debating which of our schools is the most prestigious and which has a better undergraduate program. Just for fun, please rank these three schools in terms of prestige and undergraduate education. Thanks!

No. It’s a waste of time and nonsense question. Anyone who thinks they can dependably rank these schools rather than just describe how they are different is pretty much full of ****.

Brown=Dartmouth > Penn

They’re equivalent.

Surely you have something more useful and interesting to discuss with friends.

Speaking of just undergraduate education:
Brown
Penn
Dartmouth

Either would be a great choice, if you know what you would like to study then it could on deciding a school.

Overall, typically:
Penn
Brown
Dartmouth

For academics, it would be Penn, Dartmouth, and then Brown (coolbreeze and prodigalson, no reasonable person believes Brown’s academics are better than Penn or Dartmouth; stoned Brownies think that, but they are stoned. In a year or two, USN&WR may drop Brown out of the top 50 altogether).

For opportunities to get stoned, it would be: Brown, Dartmouth, and then Penn.

For frat experience, it would be: Dartmouth, Penn, and then Brown.

For off campus fun, it would be: Penn, Brown, and then Dartmouth.

For after graduation connections, it would be: Dartmouth, Penn, and then Brown.

For likelihood of meeting a famous person or their son/daughter, it would be: Brown, Penn, and then Dartmouth.

For jock atmosphere, it would be: Dartmouth, Penn, and then Brown.

Prestige Internationally: Penn > Dartmouth = Brown

Prestige Domestically: Brown = Dartmouth > Penn

prodigal, here are this year’s USN&WR rankings on academics:

Penn

Dartmouth

Brown

Brown earned the dubious honor of being the lowest ranked Ivy. Even Cornell ranked higher.

High Times magazine and NORML may rank Brown higher, but no one else does.

So what are you talking about?

People in-the-know do not judge prestige by magazines for the masses.

Do you seriously think that, say, WUSTL is more prestigious than Brown???

Uh, “even” Cornell? Cornell’s college of arts & sciences is smaller than Brown’s and has a better faculty. Engineering at Cornell is also superior, as are its other colleges (by default).

(That said, I consider Brown and Cornell completely on par for undergrad.)

Penn
Dartmouth

Brown

Try getting into Penn, Brown, and Dartmouth, and then you can judge

Lollllll. This thread is hilarious.

I’ll expound on the list:
For frat experience, it would be: Dartmouth, Penn, and then Brown.
For off campus fun, it would be: Penn, Brown, and then Dartmouth.
For after graduation connections, it would be: Penn, Dartmouth, and then Brown.
Prestige Internationally: Penn > Dartmouth = Brown, although none of these are that well known outside of the US.
Prestige Domestically: Dartmouth = Brown > Penn, only because Penn is probably the most obscure sounding Ivy.
For an academic experience: Penn > Dartmouth > Brown
For an engaging campus: Penn = Dartmouth = Brown, depending on your tastes.
For selectivity (difficulty of being accepted): Penn > Dartmouth > Brown
For a more intellectual atmosphere: Penn > Dartmouth > Brown
For a cooler name: Brown > Dartmouth > Penn
For a more diverse campus: Penn > Brown > Dartmouth
For more nerdy Asians: Penn > Brown > Dartmouth
For more obnoxious students: Penn > Dartmouth > Brown
For more white students: Dartmouth = Brown > Penn
For Crew: Dartmouth > Penn > Brown
For Football: Dartmouth > Penn > Brown
For Residential Housing: Dartmouth = Brown > Penn
For School Seal: Penn = Dartmouth > Brown
School Colors: Dartmouth > Penn > Brown
For School President Attractiveness: Penn > x 150 Brown = Dartmouth
For feeling of inadequacy: Penn > Dartmouth > Brown (has no feelings)
For having the biggest tools: Brown > Dartmouth = Penn
For Having a Cool Founder: Penn > Brown > Dartmouth
For Having HISTORIC Value: Penn > Brown > Dartmouth
For Being a REAL University: Penn > Brown > Dartmouth
For Having Kick A** Grad Schools: Penn > Brown > Dartmouth

To Add It All Up (First Place = 3 Points, Second Place = 2 Points, Third Place = 1 Point)
1st Place = Penn (51 Points)
2nd Place = Dartmouth (48 Points)
3rd Place = Brown (39 Points)

It’s funny because most of it is untrue :).

They’re all kinda iffy. You guys should have SCEA’d at Yale. ;)

Lol… this thread has jks written all over it… They’re all good and at least for undergrad, differences aren’t huge!

Penn = Brown > Random Community College >>>>>>>> Dartmouth. Feel better OP?

they are all incredible schools. you won’t have a large advantage at one over another (at least i think).
