Recipients of likely letters deferred/ rejected?

<p>Now that decisions are posted, I want to go ahead and settle a debate which seems to the be source of many nights of lost sleep.</p>

<p>Did anyone who received a likely letter wind up being deferred/ rejected? </p>

<p>I know that the 'season's greetings' e-mail more or less proved to not hint to anything, but the likely letters were pretty blatant -- I received one, it invited me to the 'Be A Carolina Student For A Day,' and I was accepted to Carolina last night (Go Heels!). </p>

<p>Has this held true for everyone else?</p>

<p>S (OOS) recieved LL the Friday after Thanksgiving, accepted yesterday.</p>

<p>S2 received LL right before Christmas, accepted yesterday.</p>

<p>I recieved a LL letter in November and I was accepted yesterday!</p>

<p>I received a LL (no Christmas email, though) and I was accepted yesterday!</p>

<p>My friend received the Christmas email and was deferred, so I don't think the seasons greetings thing meant anything...</p>

<p>yeah i received a likely letter in december, although it was dated november 20...but my parents SWORE they got it in december....</p>

<p>Wow. I'm really surprised at that. There must have been something very unusual about her case. Or is there a possibility that she misinterpreted some communication as a likely letter when it was not?</p>

<p>That's a possibility...but she told me she got a likely letter long before the season's greeting's emails went out.</p>

<p>I swear, I'm a typo in the admissions office. Ug.</p>
