certainly isn’t going to kill me. certainly is torture.
You guys who haven’t heard will have to wait for 4/1 - that’s when the official admissions will be released. Just talked to a counselor there.
I have a scholarship due on April 1, and one of the requirements is to know where you’re going to school when you submit it. I guess it’s just terrible timing.
Hey everyone, so I just called admissions and they said they’re sending decisions on a rolling basis. If you haven’t received anything, it doesn’t mean you were rejected. The lady on the phone said we will find out by April 1st!
@frodosdojo
Did they say if it would be by email on the 1st?
Wow was really hoping for something today.
@MidwestSalmon I did not ask since we already knew. Most likely - hang in there - it sounds like more acceptances are coming !
Thanks Frodo!
I am suffering from the mixed blessing of online accessibility.
dang flabbit I had just gotten to the stage where I accepted that I didn’t get in and now I can feel a little bit of hope rekindling within me.
Shall I try to dash your hopes then?
Just kidding of course.
I think I’ll just keep myself under the impression that I was rejected.
This is not a professional operation. There is no reason they could not have waited until they were ready and released all at once. I am not favorably impressed.
It does seem odd. It seems like sending out decisions in waves should only be necessary at large schools. It also seems like there should have been a clear indication that this would happen before the fact. It’s by a big deal but it does seem disorganized.
Wonder if those who got the email last Friday were somehow approved earlier. The email said to sign up for a visit Reed event. Maybe they check how many signups they get before deciding how many more approval notices to send.
Maybe they’ll tell us at 10:15 tonight??
@OdiEtAmo huh… i got waitlisted at kenyon and accepted at davidson. still waiting for reed. colleges are weird
Stop projecting your impatience into Reed. You are not entitled to a decision before April 1. Sending it in waves is a perfectly acceptable recourse when the college is overwhelmed with applications, especially after losing an admissions officer.
@International95 Who did they lose?
I don’t like having a clear release date, i like being surprised!
I do hope they sound out emails rather than try to mail me the decision, my adress has changed twice since I sent in applications, it’s in a different country!
And I suppose some will scold me and say I should have logged in to my account and attempted to change it, but I don’t care for physical mail and am too lazy to do so for all of the schools that I applied to.
@Ctesiphon I’m already so tired of waiting for some superfluous college decisions at 5 PM. Surprise is much better.
