Richmond EA Class of 2023

What were your stats?

Financial Aid letter received today.

@Leigh22 in the mail?? and what state?

got mine in the mail today, in va. still expected to pay $31,600 per year, including my presidential scholarship, other grants and $5,500 in loans. i understand how that looks reasonable to them given my family income but it’s really not, given my siblings and all of our expenses… could be worse but could be a lot better.

@ArborS oh wow, but what was your efc number on fafsa? i just want to get an idea of what i might get

@gherbss efc was about $45k, i got $43k, however if i hadnt gotten my presidential scholarship that number might be much lower.

@ArborS okay that’s good, that means they’re giving you more money than expected but yea i understand, it still would be better if it was more

Found out of my acceptance with a Presidential Scholarship about a week ago. Thought I’d share my stats- 31 ACT, 4.175 GPA, 7 IB Classes, 6 Honor societies, lots of ECs (lacrosse, heavy in theatre), and strong demonstrated interest. Good luck to everyone deferred!

My D19 got her FA packet, and Richmond does meet your need. It was quite an impressive package, no merit, but she has a brother in college as well. She’s excited about our state school, so probably won’t attend Richmond. Also, there’s the uncertainty of how FA will look once her brother graduates in two years. Good Luck all!

@Power01 what state?

i got my financial aid

My D got her Financial Aid packet. Or should I say got nothing. We are in NY

mine was over $56k not including loans

@gherbss did you receive any merit scholarships? or did they offer you $56k including merit?

@dfrash158 it was all inclusive

Mine was small, I’m surprised I got anything.

Richmond should not advertise they meet 100% need based on the package my daughter received. Piss poor financial aid.

@jsw1310 what’s was your efc on fafsa and what what the amount they expected your D to pay?

Unfortunately, being 100% meets need can mean including loans and student work.
Our FA was also disappointing, being a few thousand higher than what we anticipated using the NPC. My S loves the school, but he understands that we need to see what other acceptances are coming and the cost. It’s a tough process.
