Lexsi340 - Yes I included that in the box and in my essay.
dkman328 - My brother too! He literally got his bachelors a few weeks ago from RU. They should take that into consideration too. I don’t care what makes them accept me as long as they do lol

dkman328 - My home is only about 35 mins away from RU, my brother commuted all four years but I wanted the experience of dorming in a way. My CC is actually closer when I stay at my apartment off the RU campus so it worked out okay, obviously not what I expected but it turned out alright. Are you at a community college right now too?

I am looking forward to living at home also. I live about 30 mins from RU. Trying to save up money to maybe go to grad school.
Lexsi, I agree that if you want to go to a CC then pick one in NJ. I heard the transfer process is much easier. Taking 17 credits during the winter will definitely help you, assuming you did well on them.

nic - Yup! It should actually bring my GPA to a 3.7. So if they wait on those grades, I’m positive I’ll be in…

Good luck y’all and keep each other posted :)

We definitely all need luck now lol…and yes I am in Community college…the big Brookdale haha

Good luck to everyone too! I’m sure we’ve got another month left, and dk my cousin goes to Brookdale too! :)

Good Luck, Hopefully we all get in!!!

If any of you guys’ applications gets updated please post something lol. So we know that the admission people have actually started looking through our files.

Question for you guys… My aunt/uncle got their degrees at Rutgers and my grandfather took some graduate classes. I didn’t think to put this on the application (although they only have the section asking about parents/grandparents) and I am wondering if I should call admissions to let them know, or if it probably won’t affect much (even if it just affected scholarships, that would be great!).

I think it would have been better that you put that down on the application but I doubt it is going to affect the decision very much. I don’t think it is a good idea to call them up just to let them know that your uncle/aunt went to rutgers.

lexsi, my husband and I both have graduate degrees from Rutgers, and my mother, sister, brother, aunt, and 3 cousins have Rutgers degrees as well. My parents (D’s grandparents) sponsor a scholarship there. Yet we were told that none of this counts in the admissions process. My mother spoke to her contact in the development office several times during the application process and was consistently told that my D would need to get in on her own merits.

eastcoast - Thanks, I appreciate that. I just am trying to do anything possible to boost my chance!

ACCEPTED!
-to SAS and SEBS Fall 2011
-Stats are on first post

WOAH! That is one of the earliest transfer acceptances I have ever seen (and I’ve read back like threeee years). Congrats!! Hopefully this is the start of early, positive acceptances
And you have a low amount of credits AND are out of state… You applied about 3 weeks ago? Woo! Well I guess we can expect the rest of us to hear back mid-feb?

I am actually in state, but went out of state for my freshman year. My quick acceptance was from writing a letter to the admissions officer that contacted me last year and told me i was on the waiting list. I was eventually denied because my senior grades were horrible, but i sent her a nice letter, letting her know i was doing well and still desired to go to Rutgers and a few days after that ACCEPTANCE!

Oooh got it - you’ve still got residency because of your parents, right?
Well good for you! I’ve got to email those guys more often ;).
Was rutgers your top choice for transferring??

Yea it was, it was the only school i applied to and i am definitely going. I still live in NJ i just went to college in PA this year, so yes my parents still live in NJ too, but i am a resident of NJ.
Best of luck to you guys!
