scholarship money

I just got my acceptance letter today and was wondering when they send out scholarship money. or would it have been included in my acceptance letter?

Last year my don got his scholarship letter about 2 weeks after the acceptance letter.

I forget if Honors College info came with acceptance or separately.

Junior011, My DD and I are also patiently waiting for news of any scholarship money. She received her acceptance letter and admission into the Honors College in mid-October but still no word on any scholarship. We hope to hear something soon!

did the Honors College aceptance come at the same time?

Yes, it was in the same letter. And then about a week later she received another letter with more info on the Honors College.

I got my scholarship notification today: full tuition scholarship!

Congrats, hgblue! If you feel like sharing your stats, you may want to do so on the official 2015 acceptance thread. Many applicants are wondering about scholarships and it may be useful for them to see the profile of one of the lucky recipients.

Good suggestion, they are posted!

hgblue could u tell us when did u applied?

I got a yearly $10,000 scholarship, although I’m not sure if it still applies for the four years in Pharmacy School.

DD received her scholarship letter today. Full Tuition and invitation to apply for the Chancellor’s. She is so excited! Good luck everyone else who is waiting on their envelope!

IZZY4COLLEGE, I applied on campus at the end of August at an “I want to be a doctor” event

Full tuition offer came today via snail mail. A big congrats to all of the other winners and their parents!

“last year approximately 22,000…applied for admission…Less than 4% were awarded the prestigious Full Tuition Honors Scholarship.”

That means about 880 kids might get this offer this year if they award a similar percentage and the applications are same. Lots of room there for many to receive offers. Anyone know what their yield is on these?

MomPhD: You might find the info in the Common Data Set.

The academic profile of this past year’s Chancellor’s Scholarship Nominees included:

•An ‘A’ average in a challenging high school curriculum.
•An average SAT Math score of 755.
•An average SAT Critical Reading score of 744.
•An average SAT Writing score of 719.
•A top 5% high school class rank (where applicable)

Our son received a scholarship letter today. Full Tuition Honors Scholarship and an invitation to apply for the Chancellor’s Scholarship. Congratulations to all chosen. It is a big honor!

hgblue,

When did you get the letter for the invitation for the Med program? I got the same scholarship letter, but not the invitation to apply for the med school.

Thanks.

bm2011 - I received an email on November 8 about my candidacy, and it included a link to my online application.

hgblue,

I see. Perhaps you submitted your application earlier. When did you submit yours? Mine was completed in the week of Oct. 25. Are you applying to other combined program? I am trying to apply to Rice/Bayler, BU, USC and others.

bm2011 - i applied at the end of august at one of pitt’s “so you want to be a doctor…” days. However, I am not applying to any other guaranteed med programs.
