I was under the impression that I should send in my second quarter grades, however, I recieved an email from Exeter saying they had everything they needed. And besides, due to weather, our semester was extended, and my school is also notorious for taking forever to process grades. I'm honestly not expecting my report card until mid-February (although I already know my grades).

Should I email them and ask if they'd like them sent in? This weekend I have to send in my financial stuff, I could see if my school will have them all technically "in" by then? Personally, I'd prefer not to send them in, haha, because my Pre-Calc grade dropped a letter from last nine weeks, but I really don't know what to do for sure? If they have everything they need to review my application, are these grades really required?

Just remember that after you get in, you will be required to send a complete transcript for the full school year (i.e. in June). Admission offices may RESCIND their offer of admission if your grades go down significantly.

Gemma V: If they don't require it should we send the second quarter grades in anyway? My son's are pretty much exactly the same as last quarter- a mix of A-, A+ and A. Although last year he had a few Bs so I was thinking it may help to send it in?

Yes, I always like seeing second quarter grades even though they are technically not required to complete the application. This is especially helpful for applicants to the 10th grade, as we tend to cut some slack to current ninth graders and their first quarter grades, students who are in their first term of high school (a natural time for grades to drop as they adjust to different expectations).

I wish deadlines were all February 2nd... I have a bad feeling the grades that went sent out for me were from mid-quarters... I had been sick before, and two of my grades dropped down a lot for a week. My semester (or, 2nd quarter) grades, which are the ones that college's will see anyway, are awesome ;]. Oh, well... if it's meant to be, it'll be. I love all the schools I'm applying to, every single one. I just have to trust that they trust that I'm the correct fit, lol!

I just got new grades, but the ones I sent in were only a month old, and all the schools say they have all my stuff. Since the grades I sent in were a few percentage points higher (still all above 90 now though) I should just ignore it right? I wouldn't be able to get a translated transcript for awhile, and my school/country is notoriously late for getting you a copy of your transcript.

I don't have a problem sending them in, it's just that I don't know I'll get them.

And yes, on the checklist they say to send them, but they aren't actually on the list of items recieved. It only mention current grades.

The real problem with second quarter grades is when they'll be able to arrive, taking into consideration the weeks it takes my school to send them out, and that my counselor is really busy; she has hundreds of kids to schedule this time of year. I don't want to bother her for something that the school will recieve in June anyhow. It can't be that important if my application is complete without it?!?!

Can we send in a photocopy of the report card we just received? Or does it have to be another offical transcript from the school? I'm sure the school is tired of sending stuff out by now...
