September 2011 ACT Discussion and Socres

Thanks cortana! That’s what I put.

Can anyone predict these scores?

English: -5
Math: -10
Science: -15
Reading: -6

I know, I did absolutely terrible…I was hoping for a 30, but after the science section, I knew that was impossible.

Was one of the allele answers receive a W allele and a P allele?

Yes, the cross was WWpp x wwPP, so the 2nd generation would always be WwPp. One dominant allele from each.

What did everyone put for the question that was said “which of the following best elaborates on the first sentence of the paragraph”? and the paragraph was the concluding paragraph of the hitchcock passage

Yeah that’s what I put. I took AP Bio as well so I didnt think that section was too bad. However, the section did not give the reader a definition of an allele, phenotype, or dihybrid cross. The section would probably be impossible to score perfect on without this prior knowledge. Therefore, I’m expecting a lenient science curve.

Are the ACT curves predetermined based on how hard the test writers believe the test to be, or are they calculated based on the raw scores of that month?

Someone tell me my composite of either or both of how many I think I missed on each section
English: -1/-3
Reading: -1/-3
Math: -3/-6
Science: -0/-2

Patient’s/patients’
Anyone? Bueller?

^Patient’s.

Bueller! Haha thanks for laugh!

■■■■. i missed the most idiotic question on math… that slope one. i wasn’t even thinking logically… can anyone guess what my score would be??

eng: -1
math: -1
read: -2
sci: -3

^^^Do you remember the context? I remember being pretty confident that it was patients’

Sorry if this has been asked, but does anyone remember the trig question that had a fraction with 25, and the answers were fractions with either 24 or 25 on the bottom?
I remember guessing the one choice with 25 on the bottom

yes, it was 24/25

Was the one asking when when a and b, negative integers, are greater than 0 only ab>0?

Sent from my SGH-T959 using CC App

yes 10char

for the negative integers question, it was II only. (B)
C^d>0 was incorrect because any negative number to a negative odd power is negative. i.e. -5^-3= -1/125
C-d>0 was incorrect because a very large negative number subtracted from a very small negative number is always negative. -5 minus -3= -2
II was correct because the multiplication of two negatives always equals a positive.

it was -24/25. it asked for the cos of the angle, which was between 90 - 180 degrees. it had to have been negative…

oh yeh, i meant -24/25 but I don’t think 24/25 as a positive number was an option

do you remember which answer choice it was?
