spring 2008 admittance

Wecandothis: Would you mind posting your daughter's stats? I think it's incredible that two individuals on this site were accepted to Cal for fall and SC for Spring.

^

I really don't understand this either.. USC's admission can't be THIS difficult this year! I've seen many applicants get in with way lower stats and less impressive EC's....

there has to be an explaination :(

maybe the essays have a lot more weight than we all think...

give me a sec and I'll get my d's stats from the Cal thread...btw...her essays were very good to excellent, she slaved over those, and she writes well

wecandothis's d:

sooo...Go CAL! ??

Haha chappa, that would be the ideal case! I'm just worried about the general ed courses transferring from Berkeley to USC, how that would work out... I'm trying to contact some articulation officers to figure it out!

Wecandothis, that's what I'd like to do, too - test out Cal, and if I'm sure USC's still what I want, I'd go for Spring. USC said its possible to cancel Spring admit if I really wanted to stay at Cal, so it's actually kind of nice to have those options open :)
I just can't see myself sitting around for a semesterrrr

waitlisted too! too bad I wont go for Spring 2008 :( oh well

annakim- you are the first waitlist I've heard of..did you mean you were admitted for Spring or waitlisted?

berna- I'm not sure how the financial aid for SC would work out for us, in that case..but maybe I should check on it

SC and Cal were my d's top choices, but the Spring thing kind of made her like Cal better :)

Wecandothis, let me know what you find out! I'm glad I found someone with the same possibly-Cal-then-USC-Spring thing going on. I'm trying to figure out the transfer credit situation and see if it'll work for my major. As for me, I can't let go of USC... haha, Cal just doesn't feel as -right- as USC does!

I thought spring was pretty much the same as waitlist? Cause dont both mean that they dont have enough room to accept u in fall, so they placed u in spring? That's what I thought... but I got in for spring 2008

spring= accepted
waitlist= limbo, you aren't accepted and you aren't rejected...you might get in, you might not

berna- d is more favorable to Cal at this point, but it wouldn't hurt to have SC as a backup in case for some reason she doesn't like Cal

but she seems pretty happy about Cal- she spent 3 weeks there last summer; she likes the "prestige" factor too I guess
