I got invited to one of these. Does it mean I'm accepted?

The paragraph makes it unclear and give me a lot of hope.

Your application for admission has been evaluated by two admissions counselors, and we are convinced that you have much to contribute to the multicultural atmosphere on Notre Dame's campus. We would like to offer you a unique opportunity to gain a better sense of our academic resources and campus community. It is our pleasure to invite you to attend our

SPRING VISITATION WEEKEND: APRIL 3 - APRIL 6, 2008

I realllllllllllllllllly want to knowwwwww!

I agree, that is kind of an annoying suspense they give you, but you should not simply focus on whether you were admitted or not. Since the adcom already believes you have a lot to give yourself, now it's your turn to take this opportunity to explore what ND has to offer YOU to a greater degree.

If you concentrate too much on whether or not you were accepted, then you will lose a lot of focus about the beauty of the program. By withholding that information from you, admissions is giving you a chance to pay more attention to whether you can envision yourself actually being a successful student here. Spring Vis invitees are generally students who ND feels would not be able to make it out here on their own to explore the University. Now that they are facilitating that for you, make the most of it.

Agree with the job. It sounds like a "likely letter" to me, I received one from UVA a few days ago, only not for minority recruitment, just for general admissions. It's basically an unoffial acceptance. Congrats!

Woo!!! I just got one of these invites too! And wait...does that mean we aren't in yet???? It seems really strange that they would pay for you to visit...only not to admit you later.....

Hmmm...I'm reading at some posts last year, and it seems like all those kids were "in", so I wonder if they changed it for this year, or if it still holds true.

Thanks Tim. I've been keeping everyone here on CC in my prayers. You deserve more then anyone to get into ND.

I've been praying about college all month, and I just last week made a commitment to God that I would give all of my future plans to him and that I would try my best to listen and follow his plan for me after high school, and then I get this in the mail, so for everyone still having to wait, God is listening and he will answer your prayers!

thanks ksazn! Really happy for u, I know how happy you are to finally get into ND (which I'm like 99% sure you did). And you are totally right about the God thing, I love Notre Dame, but even if I don't get in, I've already gotten into 2 schools that I am completely happy with. That being said, I wouldn't mind a little gold and blue!

I definitely plan on going to this. I've actually been on campus five or six times, even gone to two football games. my sister is graduating this year, but I definitely plan on going, I can't really pass up two days off school and free plane tickets to South Bend to see her!

Yeah I think that would be the pits. Think about how depressed our trip would be. So I hope they are just holding that information so we feel more attached to ND or something.

No, I am going to wait till monday to check my school schedule. I had snow days on thursday and friday, so I haven't gotten a changed to talk to my school.
