“I have a dream”… “Yes we can”
I also didn’t get an interview. I received a likely letter yesterday though. So I think interviews are not like super important.
@cnlrfp Congrats!
All speculation, but a family friends daughter got an interview…when she asked if it meant anything the interviewer said why would Stanford alumni, who on their website say interview 3-5 people each a year, interview people who are not under serious consideration. Then she said that there are also people who, on the first reads of the application decide to admit the student without an interview. Wouldn’t put too much weight on it, unless you had the interview of a lifetime.
@cnlrfp Congratulations! Where do you live and your stats that you think got you the likely letter, if you don’t mind sharing?
@me2hide I am an international student (from Thailand). I just moved to the US last fall. I am still confused about why I got the letter lol. I think my recommendation letters may be the strongest part of my app. I don’t really have big awards or impressive extracurriculars.
Does anybody know if they limit the number of likely letters in each wave?
So like they say “30 today, 25 today, no more” and pick? cuz otherwise everyone who gets into Stanford is so good that they couldn’t choose likelies that easily
@cnlrfp I am sure you are a stellar student and a humble person. They must have seen that through your essays. Good luck with your decisions!
@cnlrfp meant to ask where in the US?
Did anyone receive an email this evening offering a travel grant? S got an email that opened, “Congratulations on your admission to Stanford…” however there has been no admission to Stanford? That we know of…
Where are you from? @planner03
New York @puppertupper
Looks like thats the admission. Your stats @planner03 ?
Got that email too, @planner03 . Kind of freaking out, worried it might be a system error on their part … it’s February 28, not april 1…
@squirrelsyay I am pretty sure it is admission. Where are you from?
Las Vegas
@squirrelsyay Where is the email from - Stanford Admissions?
I got the same email too and I am also from the West region
Yes the email is from admissions, but it is definitely some kind of mistake. The way it was worded was certainly intended to be a post admission email, not an admission notification. So, either it was an email that was never supposed to go out at all, or an admission email was supposed to have been sent first, and as much as I would like to believe the later, I think S will have some disappointing news when the admissions office opens this morning.
Guys, please just call the admissions office to check whether that means acceptance
