<p>michdad - as a word of encouragement, we attended the March 22 CVW where the admissions officers stated that the issue of vision was not a big consideration in appointment. They intimated that all candidates regardless of eye waivers were competitve for the remaining slots. I wish there was room for all the qualified candidates. We are waiting too.</p>

<p>Small update - Sealion's son got Harvard today. He has an NROTC scholarship to pay for it. He's calling it his backup 'cause he still wants Navy.</p>
<p>Congrats to Sealion's son....we have good news too....accepted at the Elliott School of International Affairs at The George Washington University, with NROTC scholarship....but it's still a back-up - we are still waiting for USNA</p>
<p>Congrats to these USNA candidates! Some terrific plan B's available to each. AND to the jersybg and sealion. The tuition figures at those 2 great U's are enough to make one weak in the knees! :eek:</p>

<p>so is our postman!!! He comes soooo late in the day anyway.. and half the time i follow him down our road --i think he thinks i am a stalker:)</p>
<p>This is about as nerve -wracking as it gets--</p>
<p>My son got his first rejection letter on Saturday--Notre Dame--so that was his 2nd choice...but he's still got VMI and Tulane NROTC --just not as exciting...</p>
<p>These kids (and parents) have to let someone know in less than one month--I need a big glass of merlot--but gave it up for Lent--One more week and I am gonna get a BIG Bottle!!!</p>
<p>I got an e-mail today from my RO letting me know that I got both of my waivers, asthma and vision, and that I should be hearing word about USNA's "final decision" regarding my acceptance soon. However, my LOA said that all I needed was a waiver and that I was then guaranteed an appointment. So...nothing's final until I get that paper in my hand, but still</p>

<p>still waiting also, now I read on other threads of this sight about being put on a waiting list for some. I never heard this was an option. I am hoping to get an appointment still. I live in West Michigan, and haven't heard of anyone in the area hearing as of yet. Hope good news of an appointment comes soon!!</p>
