Successful AP Rescore Stories?

I think it’s a rip-off they don’t re-grade essays. Essays were my strong suit, not my MC. Either way, my teacher and I were expecting a 4 on AP Lang, and I got a 2. I know my score wouldn’t go up with a MC rescan, but my essays would drastically change it.

^ It’s probably because FRQs are subjective to some degree. Some rich kid might just do a rescore on all his/her APs and hope that an extra point or 2 from the FRQ would boost his/her potentially borderline score up, which would be unfair to other people. I’m fairly sure it is the same in college; professors will only change test scores that are objective (e.g. MC) and are graded incorrectly. It would be hard to argue for a higher essay score.

I got a 1 on my AP euro test and so far all the people that I’ve asked that were in my class got either a 3 or higher. I find it so shocking that I’ve gotten a one considering I studied for this and got a 3’s on the practice exams. What really bothers me is that the people who were slack offs in my class all passed while I studied my butt and got a 1 and I do better than most of them.

What do I have to do to rescore my AP euro test?

i want to rescore my govt one…but then again not many colleges take it and im not going into that field lol.

To rescore you have to send in a note with your signature (which is why you can’t do it online) to AP Services and a $25 check or credit card # or money order. Also you have to include this info: Name, address, gender, DOB, year, AP #, SSN if you put it on the exam, and exam you want rescored, then sign it. They don’t have a form, just write all that down or type it and print…however you want to do it. Send to: AP Services, PO Box 6671, Princeton, NJ 08541-6671

I have a similar story. I have worked my butt off in my ap us history course and received a final grade of an A. However my AP exam score was a 2. I know this cannot be right because I felt my Free-Response Essays were VERY strong and informative. I here that college board can have technical issues scoring the exams so Im hoping this is the case. Also I am going to request my booklets to make sure they were not lost or mixed up.

i got a 2 on apush…I did okay on the MC, but did WELL on the essays. should I rescore?

i find it hard to believe that there could be this many errors in grading. How could so many posters tests be scored wrong? If the posters do indeed have a point then college board needs to stop making so many mistakes. It’s just ridiculous

@needshelp1212 Obviously the posters do have a point because several people on this thread scores have been changed drastically. I feel as if college board is being careless by choice because for #1 Why is there so many mistakes and for #2 why are they charging money and not refunding when its their fault.

Has anyone rescored his/her AP score, or know someone who has done it? Has the score raised, lowered, or remained the same?

I received my AP Bio score yesterday and got a 1.

My quarter grades on the class were B+/A-/A-/A+. My teacher didn’t curve tests, not even if the majority of students failed them. We had tons of homework every week, and, of course had to memorize lots of concepts. In other words, AP Bio at my school is a ery rigorous course.

My teacher gave one practice test every three weeks. At first, I wasn’t that good at taking practice tests. My first score -I remember- was a 72% (I barely studied for it). Halfway the second semester I began scoring higher and higher. My lowest score on the second semester was an 85%; my highest was a 96%. Every other practice-test score, of course, ranged between the scores I already mentioned.

There are some classmates of mine who weren’t as studious and dedicated as I, and they got 3’s on the exam. They didn’t even took the exam seriously: They drew on the free response and guessed on te MC. On the other hand, I studied like crazy four weeks before the test. I feel so frustrated that I didn’t score a 4 (which is what I was expecting), or at least a 3.

Does anyone have any advice I can take? It’ll be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

It’s not always College Board’s fault when a score is wrong; often it’s the students’ fault, e.g. filling in the wrong code. Also, a lot of people think their score is wrong, but only a very small minority who get a rescore actually get a score change.
I do agree that College Board should refund the rescore money when it’s their fault though; that’s what they do for the SAT.

Yes, “zMatrix,” there are just a few cases in which CB makes mistakes on a student’s test. In my case, it’s probably my fault. I probably misbubbled or something like that. You know what? I just asked two of my classmates about their score. One said he got a 3; the other said he got a 2. I thought “this is totally a CB mistake!” because those two classmates are some ones who didn’t even “care” about the exam.

I’m thinking that CB probably says I got a 1 because they just showed me my FRQs’ score -and probably forgot the MC part. I mean, it has happened before. It’s just so weird that I didn’t score any higher than a 1.

Hello,
I just got my AP Scores yesterday, and was satisfied with everything until I saw my AP English Language Score. I scored a “2” when my predicted level was a “5” out of all the practice tests taken in class, consistent “5’s,” (and A’s throughout the class in school) does this mean I should get a rescore on my exam? And if so, how? (Do they recheck the essays too?)

How much time does a student have to ask for a rescore after he’s gotten his score before he/she can’t do it any longer?

Say if one did fill the wrong code. If that said person requested a re-score (mailed with all the proper info, AP number & all), will the CollegeBoard realize this, and will the score be corrected?

Do you just include a check for $25 in the envelope with the signed request?

I got a 3 on the AP chem exam but much higher on the SATII and would like to make sure that they included my free response. Is there anything I can do? The exam was a makeup exam.

@samsam321 Request a re-score and request your essays, as past posters have said. Requesting the essays costs 7 dollars, while the re-score is $25. If you request your essays, and you successfully receive them, then there’s no doubt it was included.

He can’t request his FR because he (I think it’s a he) took an alternate form of the exam.

I wanna rescues mine too, I had a really good teacher and studied alot. I thought I was going to get a 5 and so did everyone else. Right now, everyone around me has gotten a 5 :frowning: I’m wondering if it was because my Nixon essay got a 1? Because that’s the only way I think I could’ve gotten a 4…
