Was just interested who applied to SUMaC 2018 and how much of the admissions exam you guys were able to complete.
I did. Solved everything but one part of one problem although I have zero competition experience/success so idk how that plays into things.
I solved all problems but some of the proofs might not have been perfect. Does anyone know when the decisions come out?
They come out April 13th.
Thanks a lot!
I solved about 9/10, but my solutions for 1-2 of them were kind of shady.
@Sam7764 There were only 9 problems, not 10
I think I got like 8/9, but looking back, I totally bombed number 9… I found the most efficient solution that I could for number 9, but then I didn’t know how to use it to solve the problems cause we were supposed to find a corner case and I wasn’t able too… And I ran out of time before I could change my answer to a less efficient solution
Also one of the formulas I derived got the most trivial case wrong but otherwise seemed correct. Would this have any real effect on how they view my solution?
It’s not a big deal, but forgetting trivial cases will still slightly effect your solution.
I was able to solve all problems except for 7b.
When and How do results come out?
They are trying to get the results out on April 13th.
Update: looking back at my solutions, I had solid solutions for 1-6, half of 7(a&d) 8 a&b and partial c, and a solution I’m p sure is just wrong for 9… So probably not for me this year.

Has anybody gotten an email yet?
Not yet, I think they’re trying to get them back by 5 pm pacific
not yet
I just emailed the Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies, and SUMaC decisions will be emailed by the end of next week.
@louisgarder would it be possible to copy-paste the exact email here? I have another summer program I need to get back to soon but I’m not sure if I should pay the deposit yet… Do you think there would there be a possibility of SUMaC getting back to us before the end of next week?
