If you’re worried about the deposit, I would email SUMaC directly and ask them about it.
Negative
@Arpitr20 What do you mean by negative?
I was referring to someone who asked whether they received an email. If they’re delaying decisions, do you think I should email then with updates about the AMC series? I’m asking because I qualified for JMO this year so maybe it might help my application… Idk?
Nah I asked them if I could give my updated SAT scores, but they rejected
@tyty0511 Maybe… I am going to ask a friend I know who got in a couple years ago of what he thinks, because I am pretty sure he updated the committee when AIME results came out the year he applied.
Apparently now the decisions should be out by the end of next week
@Arpitr20 I think it might help to increase the chance of getting admitted, but it won’t matter too much since many friends of mine got admitted without passing AMC… Well, good luck!
@Arpitr20 I got in last year. I don’t see any harm in updating them. Its unlikely it will impact the decision now, but go ahead. Best of luck to you! It truly is a phenomenal 4 weeks
@Euler6 what were your credentials to get into the program? Additionally, for anyone who it may matter to, I solved all the questions in the question bank (though I think some of my answers were shady, but im damn proud of other answers). I have gotten 800 in SAT math and SAT subject math II, I got 98% in my tenth IGCSE extended math boards, and 90% in IB math HL first term examinations. I have won multiple IMO and IOM gold medals (only in my school, these organizations give out medals for school rank), I am doing a mini research project in math and I have made multiple algorithms on my own to solve the Rubik’s cube. I live in India, so the number of opportunities are considerably lesser than other countries, but I have done the best I could. Hope I get in xD
All, has anyone heard anything back yet?
Nope, nada
Nah, hopefully we’ll get decisions sometime tomorrow
Hi Aman, for some reason, I am unable to tag you. I too am an international (from India, but living in Singapore). my credentials were nothing extraordinary, I had done the typical math competitions, was doing research with a local professor and solved most of the problem set, often providing 2 different solutions to the question. I expressed my love for math and it happened to work. Hope things work out for you - it is a great opportunity for all students. If you are an IMO gold medalist, I would say you have a very very strong chance - we had 2 last year.
@Euler6 Thanks man, I do hope i get in. I was an IMO gold medalist only in my school though, not internationally or anything.
damn, when they said “by the end of next week” they meant it quite literally haha
Has anyone gotten any email regarding decisions yet?
I got waitlisted. Does anybody know approximately how many people are waitlisted?
I got waitlisted as well… I assume there would be ~15 people on the waitlist (if not more), although I’m not sure.
