I have a 32 on the ACT and a 4.31 weighted GPA (9 APs and 4 honors including senior year). I still haven’t heard anything and neither have 2 of my friends who have way better stats than me. (We all have jobs, multiple leadership positions, hundreds of hours of community service, and great essays). Just goes to show that a lot of smart kids haven’t gotten in yet. My friends will probably get in but I’m worried about being deferred. We’re all applying to Harpur. 3 of my other friends have lower stats than me and they already got accepted to Harpur (we all go to the same high school). I wish they would have just released everything on Jan 15th. This guessing game is driving me crazy.
We have not heard either. SAT 1320 ; GPA 3.74. We applied to Watson. They may be reviewing based on the school you have applied to. I’m hopeful that no all decision have been made yet.
Has anyone that has gotten in checked the status sign in through the Binghamton website?
nope- my daughter got in right away with a 95 and 28 act… so who knows what they are doing!!!
That shows it’s not strictly a numbers game as some are worried about…
Hi most of my friends already got their decisions.
-3.8 UW GPA
-1190 SAT
-Applied to Harpur College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
-Have hundred of hours of volunteer work
-President and founder of a new club
@ohnozjn I think that your SAT might be a bit low to expect an acceptance during the EA round. Any honors/AP classes? You might want to anticipate a deferment.
I’m not trying to add more confusion to the discussion, but it’s definitely not all numbers based. My son was accepted 11/30 with a 29 ACT score and a 93 weighted average. However he has great EC’s and during on site admissi Me interviews, more than one interviewer told him his personal essay was one of the best they have read. I think Binghamton is taking a more holistic approach in the decision making. For my son it was definitely not all about the numbers.
Thanks @AgainandAgain for sharing your experience with Bing Admission! Binghamton is a reputable school and I trust they do a nice job building the class of 22! If only the rest of us would get news soon… lol
i’m having issues getting into the status checker and it’s asking me for a pin i’ve never recieved? is it down for anyone else?
Maybe they are loading decisions? System could be down while they do that.
I just checked our status, the system is unavailable at this time
So any email today?
So many people heard back already (Congratz), still waiting for my results, I applied to School of Management
Stats:
33 ACT
770 Math II
740 USH
800 Chinese
92.3 Unweighted
~9 Committed extracurriculars working at social activist group, museums, community centers…
Did anyone hear back from watson?
For those of you who are on pins and needles at the moment, try not to worry so much. I’m pretty sure Binghamton doesn’t release decisions based on numbers only. I got my acceptance yesterday and had an ACT of 31 and a 3.72 GPA UW. Don’t stress yourself too much; your application is probably in a big pile in their admissions office and hasn’t been reviewed yet. Hopefully, everyone receives their decision before the holidays. Good luck to all of you!
wondering if anyone heard tonight because when I tried to log into the status checker, it gives me a message that says “CAS is Unavailable”
update: this message went away for me and it still says the dreaded “being considered”
I am also getting the message CAS is unavailable. Wonder if this means they are loading decisions.
It means the system broke down. Past days before results became available these issues were not reported.
