SUNY Geneseo Class of 2014 Accepted Students

Post your questions here.....

CONGRATS on your acceptance!!!

I got in!!! International, not quite sure if its financially feasible yet, waiting for my letter. :D

How are minorities accepted on campus? I know Geneseo is less diverse than Binghamton, but I’d rather not be taught by TAs and I was looking for a smaller atmosphere.

Congratulations!!! Geneseo is such an oustanding place to spend four years…I hope the financials work-out for you.

I thought this article would be helpful…I am sure others will comment as well.

Thanks!

Haha, I actually did read that before applying (I researched all my schools) but I’m a triple minority (intl, Asian, gay) so I was just wondering how comfortable I’d be. In your opinion, how were minorities treated on campus?

Oh, and I’ve read that there are a lot of drinking and smoking at Geneseo because “there’s nothing else to do”. I have no idea if this is true. Is it? Don’t get me wrong, I am a social drinker but not to the point of getting drunk every weekend etc.

Thanks so much for your help, btw.

Wait, acceptances are coming out now?

^For OOS, I think.

Accepted  Also an international, but I’m a transfer so I’m actually not class of “2014”. Anyway, Geneseo is a really good school so I hope everything works out for you gapyearstudent.

vickyu - Congrats on your acceptance!!! Where are you from?

Thanks Geneseograd! I’m from Taiwan, but I’ve been in the US for a while. Studied 4 years of high school here and did my OPT in New York, that’s how I know about SUNY Geneseo :)

gapyearstudent I wouldn’t worry too much, i’ve managed to make friends and find activities and I don’t drink or party at all.
I know several international students and most of them seem very happy. There’s culture clubs to get involved in too.

I was just invited to apply for the Edgar Fellows Program. How cool is that?

AWESOME!!! Go for it!

I just spoke to admissions and the letter went in the mail today. So depending on where you live you should hear something in the next few days.

With all the snow in the state of NY today, we’ll get the letters in about a month…ha

Do you mean letters for regular decision applicants?

Yes, I was told all regular decisions were being mailed out today (2/26).

Accepted! So excited! The paper was a little wet from the snow outside, but I didn’t mind.
