Teach For America 2012 Corps

Yeah, you’re right, thegirl08. It is closer to 27%.

I can’t shake the feeling that my transitional funding status should have changed already. Maddening.

Toydiamondring, I dont think you should stress the whole funding status. We have an entire week left…I think TFA would not give you any hints about the decision this far in advance.

I don’t think anyone else’s has changed so nothing to worry about. I would think my status change meant something if some other people’s changed too, but since no one else’s has, i’m thinking mine is just a fluke :frowning: But I guess we will just have to wait one more week to see! Happy November, all!

I would definitely consider it a good sign that yours changed, c9chung! I don’t think it was a fluke. You did interview the first day–maybe that had something to do with how early your status changed. And perhaps you were an easy placement! I definitely think you should be thinking good thoughts!

I know I shouldn’t be a fatalist. It’s just the nerves getting to me! I just wish, when they asked if I had any apprehensions about TFA, I had said, “None.” I didn’t want to sound naive or unrealistic, so I voiced a single concern. But I’m afraid it’s going to look bad. Someone take the computer away from me! I’m turning into the thread lunatic. :P

toydiamondring - I’m right there with you! I also have a few things I wish I would have said, or said differently during the interview. I wish I knew how the different segements were weighted (ie 5 min lesson, online activity, group activity, personal interview).

And thank you so much for posting that article - great information!!

So… until next week… more doubting and waiting. At least I’m not the only one. :-)

Yes, I replay the whole interview day in my head as well. I regret not saying more during the group interview because I only said about three sentences… and I also wish I had other things to think about so that I wouldn’t keep thinking about things I can’t change.

But thanks for that article! You must have really researched because I was looking for those statistics for a long time haha!

I have been following this thread and finally decided to put my two cents in as well. I applied at 1D and did my final interview, now awaiting results. I felt like I did great in my one-on-one interview but was pretty nervous in my lesson. I also tried to contribute a few times during the group activity but it was pretty much dominated by a few people who wouldn’t stop talking.
My transitional funding status also still says “under review”. Ugh… November 8th can’t come fast enough!

Hi Lushly! Welcome to our crazy group lol.

I am so glad that we have less than a week left until we find out. I’m going to put it out in the universe that these next few days are going to go by quickly…positive thoughts…positive thoughts…positive thoughts

Welcome, lushly!

Anyone interview in Philly last month?

I guess I will join the thread of those “awaiting” response as well! I interviewed in DC and was part of the 1DL…my nerves have been shot ever since…November 8th still seems sooooo far away! Good luck to everyone!

I put the Bay Area, Seattle, LA, Las Vegas and a few other west coast locations as my “Highly Preferred” regions. Requested to teach secondary History/Social Studies…elementary was my next preference. Hoping for the best  good luck to everyone!

I wonder how many people actually get notified early. Does everyone remember how on the application if you have a competing offer from another company you can ask to get your admissions decision early? I wonder how many people actually do this/ when they are notified.

yea, I remember. There is a guy who posted on fb that he was notified last week because he had a pending offer from NY.

I just want to know already!!!ahhhhhhhhh! lol

Does anyone know if their reference was contacted?

No idea about the references - Are they contacted after the final interview, if the reviewers are having a difficult time deciding?

Thanks everyone! It’s nice to be able to talk about this with other people going through the process. I’m still obsessively checking my transitional funding status to see if anything’s changed… sigh.

Counting down…we have about 127 hours left

Hey everyone! I’m getting so nervous as we get down to the wire here. My transitional funding status changed last night to “Complete,” but I’m trying not to read too much into that. This has been such a journey! And with everyone for 3DL finding out about phone/final interviews tonight, it’s making me even more anxious than I was before! My roommates all applied for 3DL, and I’m happy for them, but I WANT MY DECISION. :P

Mine just changed to complete, too! Everyone, please keep us posted if yours changes! Nov 8, come already!!!
