I got a phone call. One person in this thread said they got a letter

AAAAAHHH! Just got an email from my interviewer.
It wasn’t very friendly
He’s a principal of an elementary school. This is good, right? Meaning he likes kids? Maybe?

So is there any consensus on bringing a resume to the interview?

I’m sure it’ll be fine micah. Haha although principals are sometimes scary…

Yale’s advice to interviewers is not to task for test scores, grades or resume, but to accept if offered. The general idea is that the interview should cover ground that isn’t already covered in your application.

That said, if I were the interviewee, I’d bring a resume. It can’t hurt, and the interviewer might well refer to it in putting a report together.

@quomodo: I brought a resume to my Yale interview last year, but my interviewer informed me that it would be against the rules/guidelines for her to look at it. It probably can’t hurt to take one just in case, though; the worst that will happen is that they’ll politely refuse to accept it.

On the resume debate, I brought in my resume for the Yale interviewer and he gladly accepted it. I don’t think it hurts; it shows a that you put some thought into your preparation.

I didn’t take one. It didn’t seem to matter

I don’t know that it is specifically against rules/guidelines but I politely refuse to accept resumes and they are rarely offered.

hmmmm…

So I guess there isn’t a consensus?

Well, for those who did bring them… did you offer at the beginning of the interview? The end?

My D asked interviewer in e-mail if she’d like to see a resume before interview or if she should bring one to interview. The interviewer said it is definitley not required but she’d be happy to look at resume. So D sent resume via email…sounds like it is the preference of the interviewer but certainly not necessary. Her interview is this coming Sunday. This option allows the interviewer to read your resume prior to interview and not be focused on trying to read it during your conversation…Another option, anyway.

Anyone in Colorado got an interview yet?

I had my Yale interview last week- it was AMAZING!

My interviewer explicitly stated to not bring a resume. My friend had his resume politely refused when he offered it to his Yale interviewer. I agree with something that’s said on CC often, the interview should be about things not covered already on your application, and being the amazing people that you are, you should have no shortage of things to talk about.

i’m from canada, and i got an interview.

Just got emailed for an interview! I’m so excited.

Are interviews based on city or by zip code/where you live?

A question for alumni interviewers-- if you phoned a student to schedule an interview, and you were unable to reach them, would you call them again later or try email? (we don’t use voicemail much here, and my house does not have an answering machine…)

I’m trying to invent excuses for my interviewer not contacting me. .__.

^ I have the exact same question.

I just got a call for an interview on Sunday. Nervous…
