Ya, but the 64 seconds is pretty much the reason I got the stress fracture. I ran a little too much, a little too often. It payed off in times, but it's going to be there well into college. My foot is still visibly swollen, as a junior.

i remember i had an injury.....i had tendinitis.......when i found i coudnt run....i was about to faint......my whole world just turned black......but like in 2 weeks i got up and ran, i just couldnt miss track but i got better......lablondie i dont know you can do it.......not able to run.......i would go crazy

haha, I had a stress fracture in my PELVIS during cross country last year. It was probably the lamest injury I've ever had and took forever to heal :( Just getting back to running now about 4-6 months later :(

Off to practice...

i had no practice today.....im so happy....................i needed a break

Hey track guys a have a question regarding the sprint times of a buddy of mine: any D-1 potential in a couple years?

100: 11.54 seconds
200: 24.50 seconds

P.S. This guy's an 8th grader.

Oops that 100 time is 11.94 not .54. Big difference apparently.

i compete in other events, but the 800 is my main race.
i've been running since 7th grade, and i seem to get worse each year. it is a killer.
any 800 runners here who share my agony?
and any tips on training? my coach isn't very inventive as far as workouts.

i am doing steeplechase this season woohoo!

engine, what are you doing for workouts now?

You want to be a good 800 runner? Learn to do 400 repeats, 200 repeats, and some mile repeats thrown in. Throw in some long distances to get your breathing right and keep the short threshold workouts to build strength.

i mostly do 200 repeats and 600s.

Heh... I ran. I didn't go to the doctor until 11 months after it happened. I didn't think it hurt enough to be a stress fracture... By the time I went in they were like, "Well, doing something for it now won't help, but if it starts acting up again... [something to the effect of you'll be incapacitated for the next year]" I swear, it hasn't acted up at all ;) Don't worry, it hasn't acted up seriously. I'm not QUITE that stupid.

I think steeplychase'd be fun. I mean, I run CC plus do hurdles...

best of luck.......hopefully you can do xc 2006

i do spring track and xc. i LOVE XC, and hate track. i can't sprint, but i have endurance. my times for the 200 and 400 are pathetic.

yeah my back hurts but i wont be going to the doctor until after season is over because i dont want to stop running. just got done with a meet against los osos, and we smashed them as usual. the league champioinship is within view... and hopefully my sub 50 400 time as well.

thats really good time for a 400......but if your back hurts a lot, make sure you checkt it out......you dont want to run while injured.....then it really affect you in the future

Off to go watch my brother's meet. I wish my team were in it, but since we're on spring break, we passed.

He runs 300 hurdles. I'd like to see him run a 44-45 today (he's a sophomore). He ran a 47 on Wednesday and wasn't winded at all, so if he pushes it, he should get it. My next meet is next week--hoping to PR in the 400 if the weather's nice.

yeah so i quit track a few weeks ago, i was supposed to run the 3200.. i quit a few days before the first meet...he wanted us to run 3600 on the track.. i hadn't run that (not on a track) since Cross country, i said hell no. We also never practiced running the 3200 on the track. Track running slays me.... it's all the going around like a hamster on a treadmill.

o i forgot, a few weeks after i quit track i realized i had shin splints -good times- and my knee is somehow jacked up.. but i do plan to run cross country next year(again).
