Turing Class of 2026

The second hand information I collected and the path we took was to live on campus in the honors quad the first year. He does plan on leasing an off campus place over the summer to stay in Austin. I could not find any information that living on campus precludes a student from gaining residency for the next year. We will find out for sure this July/August…

Found in the old post: Computer Science: UT Austin Vs. Univ of Washington, Seattle - #4 by azgrad2014

"What most of my friends are doing to get out of OOS tuition is that Texas State law mandates that you must either own or rent property for a minimum of a year before you are considered a resident. (This means you need to live off-campus at either an off campus dorm or an apartment; make sure your name is also on the lease.) So what they’ll do is pick up a part-time job for the first year, then the remaining 3 years you are at school you’ll be paying in-state tuition. "

Any updates?

Nothing

Apparently there’s been a rejection wave.

Oh? Nothing has changed for me yet, :crossed_fingers:t2:

Where did you hear this from?

My classmates checked

Same both under review for me. hopefully this is good

For?

Did they get an email or did they log into their portals and see it?

At this point I think they are slowly (and painfully) rejecting to reach some threshold of remaining applicants who will be accepted. Just don’t know what that threshold is and when it will be over.

Or they could be throwing darts on a board for all we know.

Or they could drag the process on longer to meet their yield target over a longer time. They simply need to get on with it. I’m sure everyone wants a decision so they can move on with their lives.

Under review for my son

Did a number of your classmates hear back today?

They saw on MyStatus that they were rejected

Ye around like 1:30-2

That is terrible after such a long wait.
