Yan4ik, to the extent they are formula driven and you fit within the eligibility index, your appreal should be successful. My daughter had a similar situation with Long Beach State. They rejected her because they didn't accept her foreign language (ASL, not taught at her school, but available as independent study). They didn't consider the possibility of the latter and just rejected her. She called, found out the reason, and they told her to send a letter along with an official transcript to a certain person. She never heard back directly, but about ten days later checking on the automated phone line (they don't have online status) eventually the voice on the phone check line came on with "Congratualtions, you have been accepted for the fall semester". She got her official letter yesterday (another 10 days later). The point is that if she never had called she simply would have been rejected by mistake and the same is applicable to you. If you otherwise would have been accepted, I am confident they will reverse their decision. Stick with it and good luck. If I thought my daughter had been rejected by SDSU for any reason other than a significantly lower index than their average acceptance, I would have urged her to call SDSU as well. Good luck to you. I am sure you will have good news soon. The trick is getting someone's attention, and you already have that.

I am so glad that you replied. Thank you!

Yes, I think the same applies to me. I will send everything tomorrow.

I wanted to send also teacher recommedations, but it is too late and my couselor did not recommend it. So I am going to stick with what they particularly asked for.

I will post updates maybe next week after I will come back from spring break, hopefully, everything will turn out to be OK. I am still standing!!! :-)

lalady, is your daughter going to attend Long Beach? :-)

Yan41k, my daughter is deciding between Arizona, Arizona State, Chico and Long Beach (I think that is her current "final four". We're going to revisit them all. I'll let you know.

You've got time!
I only visited Long Beach and I really liked its friendly atmosphere and on campus tour they offered many interesting programs. It's seems like they have good things to offer to students! :-)

just curious, how much more difficult is t to get in SDSU than LongBeach? i just got my acceptance letter from CSULB a couple days ago, but not sure yet if i'll attend. also i applied to 8 CSU schools and got in all of them so far. was thinkin about SDSU, but that would be for spring 2007 semester

My daughter got into all of the CSU's to which she applied other than SDSU. SDSU is harder than CSULB, but i don't know by how much. Do you know if SDSU takes new students in the spring?

I'm having a really tough decision deciding between CSULB and SDSU. I got a full ride scholarship to CSULB but I really want to go to SDSU so I really dont what to do.

ive been admitted.
3.35/650 math, 530 CR

good luck yanik, admissions likes to see determination because it shows you will probably go if you get accepted.

Hello Everyone!

RipTide! Congratulations on admission to SDSU! Go Aztecs!!! :-)

Thank you also for the support!

I have submitted my appeal letterand they are already reviewing it. I called today, Monday March 27th, and the other lady said that it can take up to 4-6 weeks for the appeal to go through the commitee and eventually to make the final decision. The regular duration is about 3 weeks, but depending on the load of the applications it can be longer.. there is no specific deadline.

I think I will know soon enough, because they are already in the process of reviewing it.

Grateful_Dead:
did you get a full ride due to low income or did you apply for scholarships?

I got a full ride due to scholarships that my parents wanted me to apply for because they also pay for my sister who goes to USC and thats over $40,000 a year.

I got in with a 3.65/600CR/680M.

I declined their offer because I'm going to UCI.

Hello, everyone!!

You mentioned you toured the campus. By any chance, did you (or other CC'rs) see any of the dorms? We're in Norcal and can't get down there to check them out. I guess they may be overfull anyway. Anyway, we were wondering if some dorms are more popular than others....

Persistant -- yes!!! I am proud now!! :-)

RIPARIAN! Hi! Yes, I visited last summer, but honestly... I don't know the names of the dorms that they showed us..I know they showed us the one room for two (the crappy one) and the one in the new building, a suite -- that one was nice. But that's it.. I am wondering, too, which one I should apply for!!:-))

im so happy you got in yan4ik, all of us cc'ers should meet up sometime when classes start in fall. i am visiting the school 4/16-4/18 and i am taking tons of pictures. when im back i can fill you in on what the dorms are like.

riptide!!!
