UC Berkeley Fall 2011 Chance thread

@ella89

Yes, I think that’s entirely possible. The classes are really goofy in terms of content and organization, and few are even numbered (I had to put dashes in the course number box on the UC app–I explained this in the additional comments section).

Also, UC Davis is the one confirmed TAG contract I have (UCSD and UCSB don’t really issue TAG contracts early). From what I can tell based on how Davis calculated my GPA and the number of units, they counted 5 of the LAC units as transferrable. If Cal and UCLA use the same methodology*, I’ll be in great shape with a 3.9+ transferrable GPA.

*Interestingly, Davis’s policy is that for an unarticulated course to be transferrable, a similar course must exist within the UC system. UCLA’s is that a similar course must exist at UCLA. So, if Davis actually did a review of my units, and both schools follow their policies, I should be golden (at least for UCLA, which is actually my first choice). But there are a lot of assumptions here, most notably in how much time Davis spent evaluating my TAG contract.

Hey can someone please chance me

I applied to UC Berkeley (L&S) as a Sociology Major. I have a 4.0 overall, with all my pre-reqs and I am just finishing a couple of classes this spring at a CCC (IGTEC completion).
Did you apply anywhere else? You’ve probably got a 75% chance of getting in to either UCLA or Berkeley, but if I were you, I’d feel better with a safety.

Yeah I applied to many others. You do realize average gpa for phil at ucla was 3.55 right?
