@GoodAfternoonSir yeah i got rejected last year and I am applying again
@dwayneee I’m also transferring from DVC! Honestly I’m hoping my essays and ECs get me in. My GPA is within my major range but we’ll see.
Open house is this weekend with a lot of transfer stuff on the schedule. I know some people got invites so I am guessing if you did not that you did not get in. Does anyone know anyone who got in last year without getting an invite to the open house?
@toronto99 awesome dude! good luck to us both
That is a very silly assumption to make. That just because you did not get a notification of open house for Berkeley-- that it automatically means you’re rejected.
I agree @bruins8clap
@spiritualgift last year, a few of my friends didn’t get the invite but got accepted! They were worried about what it meant but they ended up getting in, so I don’t think it matters at all
Wow well, I haven’t seen anyone on this thread get the email for the open house. Maybe it is just for people that live in the area?
@Trashception is the open house invite the cal day invite or something else youre talking about?
I was thinking the same thing.
IMO, I wouldn’t drive 8 hours or fly to Berkeley just to see the campus without knowing if I got admitted or not.
@bruins8clap Exactly. Thats why im waiting anxiously for decisions to release so I can schedule tours to the campuses I got admitted to.
Is cal day the same as the open house? If it’s not, when did you guys get the email?
Not really sure why they would have cal day before transfer decisions come out. Kind of seems silly to me considering a lot of transfers won’t be willing to make the trip, if they live far away, without knowing if they were accepted or not.
I have a question. How come media studies is considered as an impacted major even though they receive about only 500ish applicants and have a relatively high admit rate (42%)
@dwayneee Unlike sociology which is impacted but not capped, media studies is a capped major at Cal. But regardless idk why that admit rate is that high either lol!
@halpmehxd i’m wondering the same thing. i got a cal day invite 2 weeks ago for april 13th. a week later i received another cal day invite from TAP. idk of any other open house type event going on this weekend besides cal day
@dwayneee I’ve always wondered that myself. Maybe because it’s a super-small dept and the majority of courses are inter-disciplinary.
10 Days left!
It’s the final countdown! (dun dun dun dunnnnnnn… do dod do do do do doooooo)
@stressexpress I agree about Cal Day. I like that UCLA has a Bruin Day for freshman and another for transfers, I wish Cal did it that way. I live nearby but I would have to take off work and I feel like it would be too hard if I went and fell in love with the school and then didn’t get accepted But there are so many cool things on the agenda… ugh
@GoodAfternoonSir I had a dream last night that we were attending our first day of lectures. I think the stress of not knowing is starting to get to me. Lol
